I would say Jetsgo with that ugly green and the name is just nasty. And that smiley face in the back of the aircraft seems cheap to me.

All white fuselage & painted tails as well as all 'theme' colors look boring or hideous!  Sad

3.) Southwest
4.) Air India
5.) PIA (Pakistan International Airlines)
6.) Air Alaska or Alaska Air... haha, whichever it is
7.) BMI
8.) Bahamas Air
9.) Air France
10.) Northwest or United (UA needs an UPDATE, the old colors are ok, but old...)

You guys can't be serious, Air India's livery is one of the best. It is unique and so different from the rest. You look at it and you think what India is known for the Palaces around India.

The interior of AI is alright too but isn't' the best!

About Air India I guess there livery only looks good on there 747-400s! I hope they order the A340 series aircraft. The livery is going to be the best on the A340-500 /-600 if ordered.

AA colors are a classic. Sure beats the all whites and the Vomit Jet.

Most unattractive livery must be on American Airlines aircrafts.
Then it comes time to Qantas Wunala Dreaming - egghhhhh.
Next livery that makes me puke are on SAA B747-300 ZS-SAJ I dont know how you call this but its really ugly.

I think all whites with painted tails are the worst. Not so much ugly as boring and unimaginative, AF a case in point. Bring back the cheatlines. A good livery in my opinion was the old BOAC when applied to its 747s.

It would have to be a tie between Southwest or Frontier with the upper case letters being glossed on the fuselage!

Personally I think that Southwest's old livery was/is the worst in the airline business, right along side that I hate ATA's old, and new paint schmes!!!

I think Japan Airline's new livery is terrible. The old was attractive. All Nippon? Is it really a livery? Very plain and boring.

UA's present is so dark and drab!!!

but I do have an opinion on beautiful schemes.

Old Southwest without a doubt.

I absolutely hate all white liveries with coloured tails. Therefore Air France, Futura (nice logo, a cheat line would have put the finishing touches to it), Continental, QANTAS (again nice logo), Spanair, Air Plus Comet, Air Canada, Emirates are all out. AA is quite nice and is not dated. BMI, reached for the barf bag the first time I saw it, but it has grown on me and does look well on an A330.

Why did Air 2000 do it? What was wrong with a colourful livery on a charter airline?

As for the TUI group, oh good grief, alright Hapag Lloyd was in need of an update, Britannia was classy, but the current....whatever it is....it's awful. I can understand why they wanted to standardise the colour scheme, but why pick that. It can be quite difficult to see the airline name in the new livery, not very clever.

My Travel, well what can I say? White would have been better

Can anyone tell me why airlines are going in for waves, for example Monarch, Air 2000, BMI, Sky Airlines?

Just looking around Schiphol today, there aren't too many bad ones. Airlines are far more brand conscious than they were once. My criticism would be too much white - Turkish, EL AL, JAL, BA, SAA, AF, etc. My personal least favourites would be:

Ryanair
Aerolineas Argentinas (not bad, but too much like IB)
PIA
Biman
Kuwait Airways (white body, blue stripes - how adventurous!)

For the most unattractive livery around, I believe it's gotta be SAS.

Have a look at these:

I couldn't believe how they painted their aircraft. First off, the fuselage is painted entirely white with its nice "Scandanavian Airlines" font, which is in turn ruined by the red engines and the blue fin with the "SAS" logo.

Looks like some kid took 2 colorful lego blocks and attached it to the white fuselage.

That Air Namibia looks pretty cool, although it would look better--much better, with a blue belly.

Indeed JAL really did screw their livery up. I saw one today at LAX and was happy to see it in the old livery.

I'm shocked that so many people dislike the new WN colors I happen to think they area HUGE improvemnt over the previous barf yellow. However I only disliked the old scheme when it was seen out side the South West US. For example if you see the WN colors in say KPHX they look right at home and very attractive (including the barf yellow), but when they are out side of the Southwest region (say KMHT), they don't fit in.

If you recall the WN commercial announcing the new color scheme, they used the visuals of the geography/landscape to choose the colors. (remember the commercial showed sweeping views of what I believe was the grand canyon) and you see the colors of the red colored rock and blue sky and how they used this in the new scheme.

I like to inquire what region/country people are from. I think you'll find that most people's taste in color scheme depend on where they are from. Of course personal taste also factors in. for example, I like clean lines and a "buisness/proffesionall" look (ie: current US. the late 80s/earlier 90's BA, current UA.)

Quick question - how many of you can see the livery of the aircraft you are flying on from INSIDE the aircraft? And does an ugly livery make the aircraft fly worse?
