To all:

According to the Seattle PI, Boeing has received orders for 12 747's. Ten
are for the previously announced China Airlines order, but 2 are for an unidentified "Asian carrier". Type or sub-types were not announced.

Some good news for 747 and Boeing.

regards,

F4N

The unidentified carrier may be THAI. They plan to add 2 744 to the fleet in the next 18 months.

This year 17 747s have been ordered, twice as much as the 757 and 767-lines together could achieve! In the end not a too bad sales year for the 747, especially under this years conditions. There have been worse.
14 out of 17 are ordered from unidentified customers, China Airlines for sure being one accounting for 10 of them. I also guess that two out of the other 4 are from Thai. But who´s ordered the other two?
Btw the Bharain airplane must be under construction right now, its line-no. 1324 so it can´t be one of the two missing.

What about Air Pacific? Or are they shopping secondhand?

Didn't Air Gabon order a Boeing 747-400 for their fleet renewal programme? I know they ordered the 747-400, 767-300ER and the 737-700 with blended winglets this year.
