They were flying the CRJ-700 to SAN as recently as a month ago, but now I believe that the services have stopped.

Freedom Airlines (Mesa) operate the CRJ700s into Los Angeles International (LAX) and Long Beach (LGB). I know the flights out of LGB go to PHX only.

Horizon also operates CRJ700s into LAX and LGB, the LGB flights going to Seattle.

I'm scheduled to fly a Freedom Airlines CRJ-700 later next month from PHX to LAX. Besides that, I don't know the other destinations.

Hope that helps a little,

They were also being operated FAT-PHX as of a few weeks ago.

Horizon operates them out of FAT to SEA and PHX.

Besides the fact that HP operates no CRJs, HP liveried CRJ-700s also fly into TUS. The "America West" CRJs are operated by Mesa.

Well I feel really special now, I'm an Aussie and I've had the privilege of being a passenger in the -700 from PHX-LAX, and I'll do so again in May next year.
The aircraft is of course America West Express operated by Freedom air.
This was a lucky one for me as I had only expected a CRJ which the itinerary stated. The flight was HP6608 leaving PHX at a stated 5.44pm and Arriving at LAX at a stated 708pm and my flight was pretty well on time. It was much the same as other HP CRJs to fly in other than the noticeable increase in cabin length. I just love the little jets.

Cheers.
I so want to fly on SCAT one day!

IMissPiedmont: if you want to get anal about the question, lets. The topic is "Anyone Know Where HP Flies The Crj-700 To?" While Mesa does operate the CRJ-700, HP has the say in where they are flown. So far, HP has decided to fly the CR7 to LAX, FAT, TUS, etc.

LOL, Well if we want to get really specific Big grin shouldn't we remember what several posters have mentioned. The -700 aircraft are flown by Freedom Airlines not Mesa Airlines, although both are owned by Mesa Air Group.

Actually, it's a much nicer aircraft. The raised windows make all the difference!
I had an AA Eagle flight from Hobby to DFW months ago..I was pleasantly surprised. I beleive they have since pulled them out of the Houston market owing to larger loads (or smaller..I haven't checked...).
My biggest dissapointment is that the improvements in the -700 are not being introduced back into the CRJ200. I'm not sure why. The additional height of the windows and the new PSU's make it appear more like an airliner than a commuter.

Does this ever operate as a CRJ-200? I swore I saw a 50-seater there on my last regular time through.

Omaha is quite the -700 capital then... gets them from ASA and Comair as well.

Raising the windows the CRJ-200 would require recertification.
I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

No doubt...but I assumed the improvements in the last ten years for the -700 and -900 would make the -200 more appealing.

I did not know that the movement of the windows would require the cost of recertification. Thank you for your information.

Some people, it appears, have no sense of humour, or accuracy. HP has no real say where the aircraft fly, It is purely a choice of Mesa what aircraft to fly on a specific route. They are not owned or controlled in any way by HP. In fact, YZ could tell HP to put the agreement up it's ass at any time if they so choose.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Everyone, please do not confuse Freedom with Mesa. Freedom is an entirely different company. It is an alter-ego runaway shop airline that is trying to destroy Mesa as we know it today. And yes, HP does have a say in where the 700s go. And YV, not YZ, has no option to tell HP to shove it. The 700s are nice airplanes, unfortunately they have a significant taint to them as Freedom planes.

From the Mesa codeshare agreement with America West:
2. Rights, Responsibilities and Obligations of Mesa:

2.1 Flight Service. During the term of this Agreement, Mesa shall
operate America West Express air transportation services (the
"Flight Services"), using the Fleet of Aircraft established
pursuant to Section 2.2, to and from the cities and based upon
the schedule established from time to time by AWA
(the
"Schedule") in written notice to Mesa (a "Schedule Notice").
For purposes of this Agreement, "Flights" means flights
operated pursuant to the Schedule. AWA may change the Schedule
by issuance of a Schedule Notice at any time. When creating a
Schedule, AWA shall: (i) take into account Mesa's aircraft
maintenance requirements; (ii) create a Schedule which will
permit Mesa to schedule flight crews in a manner consistent
with industry operational practices; (iii) schedule block
times based on AWA's internal block time policy; (iv) provide
for the following turn times: (a) in a hub location: 20
minutes for Beech 1900s and Dash 8s and 25 minutes for CRJs;
and (b) in other stations: 10 minutes for Beech 1900s, 15
minutes for Dash 8s and 20 minutes for CRJs; (v) take into
account airport facilities available for Aircraft handling;
(vi) provide for maintenance as required by Section 2.6.3 and
scheduled heavy maintenance on Aircraft as required from time
to time; and (vii) provide for at least 45 days prior notice
of any holiday cancellations. Mesa shall implement all changes
in the Schedule contained in a Schedule Notice in accordance
with AWA'S scheduling requirements within 60 days after
receipt of a Schedule Notice. Mesa or any of its affiliates
shall not provide any flight service for any other airline for
flights that originate in or end in Phoenix, Arizona.

We get them now in ELP. The interiors are very nice. They have been given HP's Airbus type interiors unlike the CRJs which have Mesa's boring look.

HP should get rid of Mesa or any of its subsidiaries....

So does anyone have a seatmap for the crj-700? or does anyone know the layout? has anyone flown in first? is it the same as on the mainline aircraft?

Seiple:

I don't believe so. Service with the -700 just began this month. Prior to that, HP operated 732s, 733s, and 319s into OMA, but now one CRJ-700 is dropped into that mix.

Omaha is quite the -700 capital then... gets them from ASA and Comair as well.

It is exciting to see them here. ASA has been flying them in for a couple of months, while Comair started in Nov. We even had the -900 stop in several months ago in Bombardier colours as part of their testing and certification. OMA has become a very interesting mix of mainline and RJ service.

The configuration of Freedom's CRJ-700s is 6 first, 58 coach.

When I first saw the "Operated by Freedom Airlines" on the planes back in October, I looked up Freedom on the Internet and found the article linked below. Although it goes into a little more detail than is probably required for this board, it does a good job of explaining what Freedom Airlines is and why it exists.

Also, as provider of the jets, crew, etc. Mesa/Freedom is no doubt involved in any contract negotiations that go on with HP, however, I'm pretty sure that all of the capacity planning/route planning/scheduling decisions are made at the HP corporate level. Therefore, it is possible and likely that HP will have mainline and Freedom and even Mesa CRJ-200s and Freedom CRJ-700s flying the same route.
