With new service from Qantas set to begin the end of March & the
return of El Al to ORD, I was wondering what's next? Do you think we
will ever see Aerflot return to ORD? I think if Aeroflot returns and
aviation officials can persuade either Cathay, China, or Air China to
begin pax service, it would be a great benefit. Not to mention an
awesome picture of these Global Heavies parked at terminal 5!
Someone told me that once Cathay received the A346 that ORD might be
on the horizon? Just curious on your thoughts.

Well, if UA drops ORD-AMS [rumoured in another thread on this forum], look out for KLM to go double daily. NW might do one of these rotations with a D10 or 330. NW is doing a lot of flying on KLM North Atlantic routes. Does NW operate any heavies out of ORD? I believe that I have seen pics of a NW 744 in ORD. Perhaps ORD-NRT?
OTOH, AA might be tempted jump in ORD-AMS if UA drops out.

Would KLM do frequency or bring in a B744? Is there a huge passenger/cargo difference between KLM's B743 & B744? I thought at one time NW used a 747 to Tokyo from ORD.

Well Emirates is still thinking of comming here, JetBlue is too. It would be good to see Aeroflot, and ElAl here and Qantas as well. NWA used to go from here to Japan cause I have a book about ORD and it has a NWA 747parked at the International terminal.

Maybe if Jetblue will began service to ORD anytime into near of the future and that is choice will be decide to began from ORD-JFK route. Those are use nonstop from ORD-JFK on Comair with Delta Connection. Just all I need do know about with the airlines. Well, talk ya later!

I would love to Aeroflot, Austrian, ANA, Tarom, CSA, Virgin and Varig all resume service to ORD. Not to mention more Latin American, Asian and Middle Eastern carriers add service to ORD.
Living in LA, ORD/MDW will always be home!

Well, there were a few resolutions of Congress to implement the runway plan that you could find on little standup displays thruout the concourses at ORD.

Yes, let's be concerned about the runway program first. An annual savings of more than $300 million. I cannot tell you how afraid I am listening to clearance when a plane is en-route to ORD. "United 718, your release time is scheduled for 0317Z, we will notify you for any improvements."

Re: Latin America. Grupo TACA a short while ago started three flights per week between ORD and Guatemala City. It's a red eye that arrives Guat early morning with connections to every destination in Central America.

I believe El Al will be returning with their own aircraft.
I also think that it is not too unlikely that UA will drop ORD-AMS, considering now they have an opportunity to codeshare with Singapore Airlines on the route (ORD-AMS-SIN).

ORD Boy 2: Gov. Blagojevich is for O'Hare Expansion not against. Sen. Durbin is against. If the expansion goes, I think ORD can see some major airline expansion.

Its a codeshare with North American. Regularly serviced by their 737-800 and 757-200.
Its too bad EK went for SFO instead of ORD. But who knows in the future..
Right now Im hunting at ORD for a Grupo TACA pic. (Started service to ORD last month)
The rumor mill has it that ANA and VS will resume service to ORD this summer while Pakistan will start service when they get their 777s.
IMO ORD gets pretty good asian service as it is but i would like to see more. We do see Singapore, Royal Jordanian, JAL, Korean, SIA, Air India, THY Turkish, Kuwait Airways, plus alot of cargo/chartered pax such as Air China, China Airlines, China Eastern and Eva Air.

The Northwest 744 you saw at ORD was probably a diversion from DTW or MSP.

I believe EL AL service is going to be using their 777s three times a week or something like that. No more North American. I don't that is starting till 10/03. I would like to see either Cathay or Air China represented at ORD. What about Aeroflot? Where they successful at all at ORD?

El Al is doing away with NAA feeders with the winter 2003/2004 schedule. ORD and MIA will both be served 2x a week each with 777-200s. Both ORD flights will go via EWR on Mondays and Wednesdays.

End of November 2001. After 9.11, ANA combined the ORD and IAD routes into one daily IAD-ORD-NRT service. That didn't last long, only one month, and IAD-NRT went back to non-stop.

NWA ended Chicago ORD-Tokyo service on June 1, 1998 and increased service from Detroit and Los Angeles to Tokyo. UAL at same time under the revised agreement with Japan had authority to increase to 14 weekly flights from 6.

It worked out well, actually. Its good that IAD has managed to hold on to that Tokyo service.
