Nice pics indeed and yes, that's a stored SR MD11 at JNB, impounded by SAA tech for unpaid bills,it's gonna be there a long time I guess..

Im so used to looking at 5,000 year old Northwest DC-10's and 747-200's in that livery that it makes the A330-300 look ancient as well.

And no matter how many times I look at it, I never see "Red, Grey and Blue".

I just see red grey and black. They swear it to be blue, tho.

- Which routes will the SAA 346 fly on ??

- Wasn't there ay plan to apply a new colour scheme for NW ?? Didn't they change their orders into A330-200 instead of 300's ???

Gigneil - are you sure the first pic (1388) is "real", it is signed "Frans Dely 2002", looks like a photoshop job to me; 1391 is fine (signed as above but 2003).

Flying Belgian- They changed about 20 of the orders of the A330's into the 200 series.. the rest remain 300's.
Chicks dig winglets.

Yeah im not to pleased with the look of that Airbus in NWA colors. As the other guy said it does really date a new aircraft.

I know that numerous people think our colors are red, gray, and black, but like so many others have pointed out, they are red, gray, and navy blue. Take a look at the following photo. Granted, it's of a Northwest Orient DC-10, but when the new livery was introduced in 1989, they simply took the existing colors (plus gray) and reused them.

So you people that think the current NW scheme makes the 330 look old? Does it also then make the new CRJs, 747-400s, 757-200s, 757-300s and 319/320 planes look old too? Think about how rediculous your comments are.
Also - do your research. NW did not convert the ENTIRE 330-300 order to -200s, nor did they convert 20. They converted 10. It is most definitely navy blue and you've got serious sight problems if you still think it's black. Perhaps if you look at an actual picture and not a digital image of what the plane would look like - it may help you see the blue better. For speculation on a new color scheme - just do a search. Oh and by the way - that ugly nasty scheme floating around here a few months ago was the so called brilliance of some virtual airline scheme designer and in NO WAY was adopted by NW.
