Can You Buy Extra Meals & Food?

I've been in Coach on some of my flights, and the meals are pretty small on domestic US flights (HNL-ORD, HNL-LAX, HNL-DEN, etc.) Do flight attendants allow you to buy extra meals becuase I know they carry a few extras onboard.

If they have extras after serving everyone they will
probably give you one if you ask.

The question is why would you want to buy one? They are usually nasty, unless you're riding in first class. You might recieve something half decent.

Some AA meals to Hawaii are pretty good. Depends on type of meal and the day I guess.

On AA, if a passenger purchases an extra seat for “privacy reasons” they are entitled to twice the meal service. At least this was the policy when I left in 2001.

Calculating the fare required contacting the tariff dept for a Phase IV given that pax only pays one passenger facility fee.
