Justin Timberlake Air Scare On LAX - NRT Flight

Sat Mar 15, 2003 12:39 am

Justin Timberlake is recovering after his "worst nightmare" "when his passenger jet was involved in a midair collision."

A bird flew into the engine of the plane that was transporting him from Los Angeles to Narita Airport, Tokyo.

“Justin told us that he and everybody else on the plane was frightened. Justin hates flying and was left very, very badly shaken," said a Jive Records spokesman.

A source close to Justin said, “When the pilot announced the engine had stopped because of the bird, everyone was in tears because they thought they were all going to die. Justin said a silent prayer and did his best to remain calm. As Justin is already afraid of flying, this was his worst nightmare. Everyone had to wait until the plane safely landed back in LA. I don’t think it was until Justin had got off the plane that the full shock of what had happened hit home. He was very upset.”

And I'm sure that in an unselfish display of loving care, Britney was on hand at the terminal to comfort him. Poor JT, his bird has been nothing but trouble lately.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

You gotta love it when a celebrity is reduced to mind-numbing fear! What type of plane was it? A 747...dear god we lost 1 engine! Had I been on the flight I would have stood up and hysterically yelled "Were all gonna die man!"

Ok, it is still early and I'm a little bitter and what not. But still, give me a break. End rant...

My worst nightmare is having to read about how two-bit celebrities thought they were close to death.

For crying out loud; the aircraft had 1 of its 4 engines taken out in flight.

I agree DesertRat, I really hope the aircraft is ok. Hopefully it will be cared for and a nice brand new shiny engine will be installed. Poor Justin, he got the scare of his life. If only he'd quit singing after this horrendous incident that nearly cost his life!!!  Big grin But that's too much to ask for.  Sad

What about the other normal passengers on the plane too? First they have to be on the plane with this sideshow act and then the birdstrike happens, talk about a bad day.

With the title "Justin Timberlake Air Scare" I thought he had gone mad on the plane and try to open a door or something, or maybe some crazy person assaulted him during flight . But that the airplne he was going on had an engine failure is not all that improtant or newsworthy- I guess the media is having a slow day today.

This is a real story I think.

However, there is no date and my records show no such incident in the past two days.

Does this mean that Cheong Choong Kong the Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Airlines Limited doesn't personally ring you give you the lowdown on every conceivable incident involving the company?

If this is the case, all I can say to CCK is 'I'm not impressed'.

Who cares about the airplane?! It's only a piece of metal! Metal can be replaced. Lives can not. My prayers are with the bird. That bird had a mother, a father, maybe brothers and sisters, perhaps even children. This is a tragedy that is all too common.

Gotta love the headlines:

http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30500-12268509,00.html

JUSTIN SURVIVES AIR SCARE

GTFOOH. If it's a scare he wants, I'll organise for an escort on his next "Singapore Airlines Limited" flight to be our very own Singapore_Air. Not only will it scare him enough to never fly again, but very possibly make him give up his will to live (which I can only pray for).

And although unrelated to this incident, this could very well be the headline for all the news organisations carrying this story (for want of a better word)

http://www.teenmusic.com/d.asp?r=32292&cat=1020

Timberlake a Mother's Boy?

Someone should have told him the only way to save himself was to jump out the front entry door. Maybe he himself would have hit the engine on the way back. Oh well, just wishful thinking.

That aside, hope the plane is ok.

Guys how do you can you speak so freely? Don't you ever stop to imagine how much one can suffer? I mean he even probably didn't see it coming. It took him by surprise. TO him and his family. POOR BIRD I hope I could give my condonlences to his family, but rest assured that my thoughts are with him. I'm crying a whole river for him.

Oh, and Justin..... why don't you just go to some private island and stay there forever? I mean if you ever get out, you may easily die because of a bird strike. It will surely be good for you, and for my ears too!

how much more are these Stupid Boy bands going to get media attention?

I agree with whoever throw Justin into the engine... do that with the rest of the Backdoor Boys or N'Suck or whatever crappy boyband sissy group he came from.

Why is he more important than any of the other people on board?

If he is scared to fly, then he should stop touring and retire.

Justin needs to talk to the other JT...the much more manly John Travolta. Maybe Travolta can give Justin a ride in his jet or get him into a simulator to show him that "losing" one engine is not the end of the world.
This could be a great help to Justin's career....one less thing to "worry" about (freaking out on airplanes)

To the people who suggested he be thrown into the engine, let's not go too far! If he died right now, he'd be idolized forever, and we can't have that!!! I say, let him wither away into the nothing that he really is. It would be great if he could take a few of his fellow celebs with him though.
