DL To Resume Printing Timetables

Fri May 02, 2003 3:08 am

FYI---Source Delta Air Lines

10:26 a.m. 5/1/03
In response to customer and employee feedback, Delta has made the decision to resume printing its worldwide timetables. The new streamlined timetable, scheduled to debut in September, will contain flight schedules for cities served by DL-operated/marketed flights and DL Connection carrier flights. DL ceased printing and distributing its worldwide timetables in April in an effort to lower costs (the action was expected to save the company $1.8 million annually), and to promote use of the electronic timetable on By reducing the quantity of timetables printed and limiting the distribution to airport ticket counters, City Ticket Offices and Cabin Service for aircraft provisioning will maintain some of that cost reduction

Very interesting. I have received conflicting info on this in the past...can anyone confirm that printed timetables for these U.S. airlines (i.e. all the big 6 carriers with the exception of DL which is coming back) have been terminated:

And anyone care to add their contributions as to which U.S. airlines still have timetables going?

All the LCC seem to still have them. Southwest, Airtran, Spirit, Jetblue all still have them. I don't know about Frontier.

ATA has also begun printing them again.

A very good move in my opinion as not everyone has computer access or knowledge to use the online timetables.
