AA 757 Enroute To Buffalo

Sun Jun 08, 2003 2:50 am

Anyone know why AA is gracing BUF with this large aircraft today? We normally only see 757's for NFL team charters or cargo. I'm not aware of any big sporting events or concerts in the area? Military charters always go to the Air Force reserve base at IAG.
As you may know, we only see service from AA Eagle now (yes, I'm bitter).

It might be one of those companies that charter people to vacation spots like Funjet, etc. Although I find it strange that they would be using AA. They usually use ATA.

A^A doesn't even fly to BUF or ROC. I checked an it's departing for ONT @4:29EST as AA9440.

Zrb2:

The only thing I can think of at the moment is a diversion from Toronto due to SARS. Lots of cancellations bt groups, tours, ect cause of this.

AA schedules 738's, not 752's, on LAX-YYZ. Anyway, there has never been a SARS-related diversion from YYZ. It must be a charter.

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

I believe that only widebodies are delegated to CRAF...

As said above, it was most likely a charter, or they ran out of the normally scheduled type of aircraft.

If a flight was going to be cancelled going to Toronto due to SARS is certainly wouldn't have been decided midair while enroute to YYZ....as someone said above...there have been NO diversions into Toronto because of SARS. That definately can be ruled out as to why there is an AA 757 going to BUF.

That must be a charter. The flight number (9740) is too high. Wait, I just looked it up in SABRE. It was a ferry flight. Only a CPT and F/O, no F/A crew onboard.

I wonder what they were ferrying to BUF? corpses? Thanks for all your input. This flight landed at BUF and turned around and went to ORD.
