Mike,

Great job. I have a request as well.

Spirit Airlines CRJ

A few years ago my company (Comair) almost bought Spirit. I might be able to have some fun with this.

Also, any modern livery on a DC-8

Thanks,

RJ

Patrick,

You can look on the database here to see a 757-200 in TWA's new colors. There are lots of pictures.

Just bringing this topic back to the top. Love that Sprit CRJ-700 that is on bad ass looking plane. How about a North Central CRJ-700??? That would be neat looking also!!!! I just finised an auctal model of an Airbus A-320 in North Central colors, boy does Herman look great on that plane.

Howdy,

This is my first post, and it's going to be a pretty weak one.

This thread seems on seeing unlikely, improbable, or impossible color schemes in various type/carrier combinations, but with almost western carriers and makes exclusively.....

How about a TU-144 in BA or AF colors? That ought to make someone do a double take!

Even a TU-154 in a United or Delta scheme might get by a quick glance...

PS. Mike, I can't echo enough how neat your efforts are !!

yes, my website works, but if it gets heavy traffic it will give you an error because it has limited bandwidth due to it being a free site. There is nothing I can really do about it unless I pay for more space and bandwidth, which I don't really want to do right now. The error should give you an estimated time of when the site will be able to be viewed again.

Yes, all great work.
I would really like to see an L-1011-1 in the old CP Air colors. If doing the Tristar is too difficult, then a B777-200 would be great as well.
Hope someone can do it.

I use another method, creating a new layer, multiplying it and then 'hand-drawing' it. It is a bit faster.

Did anyone notice that on the A340-600 page with Air France, that later they show a A346 in the "Air Force One" paint scheme. That will never happen and I cant even stand the thought of that.

Mike:

You are just TOO DAMN GOOD!!!!!!!!

Now here's a new challenge for you.

Being that you are the undisputed king of fantasy livery/plane combos, can you CREATE "fantasy" liveries using real pictures?

I dreamt up an imaginary "USAir" livery, inspired by the markings on a bag of peanuts. It is derived from the 1989-1997 red/blue/silver USAir color scheme.

Follow me here.

The belly of the plane is grey. Then, just below window level is a thin red stripe (basically the same as Continental, only instead of a gold color stripe, it's red)

Above the red stripe, the rest of the fuselage would be white. The standard USAir red/blue titles would be the same as it was with the Times New Roman font.

Then the tail would be a reduced version of what they actually had.

The middle of the tail would have the navy blue field, and the white USAir logo. Then the logo would be flanked on the top and bottom by the red stripes. But above and below the two red stripes, the rest of the tail would be white. Basically, just two red stripes instead of three.

I've tried drawing it on paper before, and while it's actually a pretty simpleton livery, I'd really like to see what it would look like on a real plane. If anyone can do it, you can.

Thanks.

Hardly a king, but thanks!

Creating a "fantasy" livery is certainly harder but I did do one recently. Someone ask me to do a "KAGY Island Express" A320 and supplied me with a drawing (made with Windows Paint?). I put it on a real A320 and it didn't come out too bad. So yes, it's certainly possible...why don't you send me the drawing you have and I'll check-it out.

I'm a very lousy artist, but I'll whip up a quick "schematic", if you will, to show the basic concept-I guess I picture is worth a thousand words. Then maybe you can work your magic, using Continental and USAir photos to create what I am referring to. Give me a few minutes to have it uploaded.
