CAE - IAD - FRA - BKK - DPS - all the way across Europe and Asia to get there
Coming home is slightly different, but I definitely chose this way
DPS - SIN - MAN - IAD - CAE
Not quite as many connects as you guys, but some very LONG segments. Thank goodness for Biz Class!

To get to a club med a friend and I did this routing, years ago!
DTW - DEN - TUS - GYM - TUS - PHX - LAX - ORD - DTW
DTW to TUS was with CO, to GYM and back to TUS was on AM, TUS to LAX was on HP and LAX to DTW was on UA. Also if my code is wrong we where headed to Guaymas Mexico.

When I lived in So. CA I once had two trips (one to BOS and one to MSP) get backed up to one another because of circumstances beyond my control. The cost of reticketing was prohibitive, so I decided to fly back to LAX from BOS (via ORD), have dinner with parents, switch bags, fly to MSP on red-eye.
Bad idea.
Mechanical problems AND weather in ORD made my BOS-ORD >4 hrs. late, missed my connection to LAX, took last flight of the evening to LAX (also really late), missed my flight to MSP, and had to take 2am flight to MEM and connect to MSP.
Summary: BOS-ORD-LAX-MEM-MSP
My eyes were certainly red!
Oh and by the way, layover in LAX was <10min. Mom met me at 1:50am in T4 (AA), said hi, ran to curb where friend with car drove us at 300 mph to T2, where the NW counter agent said RUN! And they were holding the plane.
Turns out AA would have honored the NW ticket to MSP and put me on a ORD-MSP flight. But I didn't have my ticket. doh! And I was young and afraid of hanging out in MSP o/n by myself.
Anyone else would have found a slightly more sane itinerary, I'm sure.

Being only 17, this was what I did in a month, not in one go but VERY close to eachother. DFW-CDG-LHR-IAD/DCA-YUL-CDG-MAN-LHR/LGW-DFW. Several tickets used there.

Flew ZRH-KUL-(TPE)-KUL at once and after 3 nights at LA I continued from SA - California">LAX to SA - Hawaii">HNL and from there I took the Island Hopper via MAJ-KWA-KSA-PNI-TKK-GUM and after 12hrs at GUM I continued via YAP and ROR to MNL with a connection to BKI on MH. One night at BKI and I flew: BKI-SDK-KUD-BKI-KUL and had two nights at KUL and flew back to ZRH. A short 10 day trip.
Or a 3 day SA trip from ZRH-JNB on 743 Ndzani, JNB-CPT on 732. CPT-JNB on 346 and JNB-ZRH on 747SP.
Or a 9 day trip: ZRH-KUL-SIN-KUL-ICN,GMP-PUS-GMP,ICN-HKG-TPE-KUL-ZRH. I flew MH 772, 744 and 330. SQ 310, JL M11, KE AB6 and 773, OZ 734, CI 742 (w/o).

A few years back I took my girlfriend to Sweden with me but instead of taking a direct flight (same price) I wanted to go a longer way so we flew DUS-HEL-ARN-HEL-FRA instead of a direct FRA-ARN-FRA tour.
And just a few days ago I flew PAD-STN-NYO instead of a direct either FRA-ARN or HHN-NYO flight. My return will also lead me through STN but than from VST.
Not crazy but the best I can add here...

I spent Wednesday 09th April night at Heathrow's connection center at terminal 1. Usually it is quite but that night we had a maintenance group repairing something so it was noisy... They even started vacuuming at 3am. I met a couple living in the USA but with Macedonian origins. They were waiting for their BA flight to Belgrade the next morning and it was a lot of fun. We could hardly sleep with all that noise and there was a men coughing all the night long : we were afraid of him having the SARS. Taking Finnair in the morning to go to Helsinki was one of my best shorthaul flights... Nice service, nice meal, relaxing atmosphere and nice FAs.
But all in all, it was a the best trip I have ever had and it was me who wanted that complicated routing to the surprise of the Swiss agent in Geneva.

This year so far the longest has been:
LAX-DEN-ABQ-DEN-IAD-DEN-ABQ-DEN-SFO-LAX
All on United as many 777's as I can get.
For September (including September 11) I have booked:
LAX-DEN-RKS-DEN-ABQ-DEN-IAD-DEN-ABQ-DEN-SFO-LAX
For domestic flights the 777's to IAD from DEN are great (especially first class). The Denver based UA crews are the best.

Oh, people might appreciate this one for its creativity. I was proud of myself at least.
I had a bit of a scheduling impossibility: How do you do IAH-PHL? Easy, except I couldn't leave IAH until after 8pm on a Saturday night. And I needed to be in Philly the next morning by 10am. The latest non-stops left IAH around 6 or 7, esp on a sat night! Earliest sunday morn flights don't get in until too late esp b/c of the lost hours going east. Solution:
Fly CO west to LAS (late eve departure @ ~8:45--and my first and only 737-900 flight). Take HP red-eye to PHL (left LAS ~1am). Unfortunately we had some mechanical diffiulties on the HP A319 and I was an hour late to the graduation I was going to...
I guess the other option would have been to fly on a late eve flight to ATL or a Fla. city and then take an early morning flight to PHL.
