Air France hands down has the DIRTIEST planes ever. There's a photo of one of their 735s at WAW where the paint is PEELING off the plane! And I don't mean little strips, whole patches missing!

Yeah i'd say that Air France wins this title hands down. I think that like everything else in France they don't wash those things. I'd say if your not going to wash them then don't paint them white!!!

In the past Air France wasn't the winner on the dirtiest planes. I remember those old dirty old Pan Am and TWA planes. The worst I ever seen!

I would have to go with everyone else on the dirty planes, AF clearly takes that title. But for cleanest i would say US Airways, and BA keep theres pretty nice and clean.

Martinair is one of the worst ive seen. The paint job look like is from the 70's and it hasnt been touched since then.

dc9's, the old ones, -10/20/30/40/50 were always filthy behind engines. didn't matter who operated them.
i particularly remember Republic planes being dirty on the outside. a white fuselage completely blacked by exhaust behind the engines. Eastern let theirs get pretty bad too.
Northwest still flies many of the Republic dc9's. NW does a better job of keeping them clean.

I'm hard pressed to ever remember seeing a dirty UPS aircraft. Trucks either for that matter.

I have never been impressed with Southwest's cleanliness. In fact, I often have to wipe crumbs off my tray table and seat to avoid "crunching." They're cheap...but nothing's free - and that philosophy is clearly evident with one look inside a WN plane.

Outside, the dirtiest at least from what I've seen from the pics posted and my own spotting, Air France and American seem to have the filthiest planes, at least at SFO. Korean and BA always seem to be flying clean planes.

Thanks to probably the lack of money in their budget, Air Canada's planes are starting to look really nasty, especially the CRJs. The exhaust from the APU are leaving their marks.

Hands down from experience - the dirtiest inside and out has to be Great Lakes Airways. They fly B-1900's out of DEN as code-share commuter service for both United and Frontier. Its unfortunate as they are the only choice to small communities in Wyoming, Colorado, the Dakotas, Nebraska.
Oh how I long for the day when the skies were truly Friendly!

Your post sucks. Is it really necessary to offend the French? I agree that Air France Airplanes are sometimes in very bad condition.
I think France is a beautiful country.

The ones in best condition probably Singapore, Lufthansa, and United.

When you have only 25-30 minutes for a turn, the F/As cannot be expected to get to everything. My experience is that PEOPLE are filthy and don't seem to mind sticking gum on the seats or crushing a cracker into the carpet.
The short turns help contribute to Southwest making money (thus cheaper fares), which come to think of it, is probably why you took WN in the first place.
