Nicest is probably AMS, I agree. Also, I really like all of the Scandinavian airports.

As somewhat of Europhile and aviation buff, I have to say I like most, if not all, European airports--even the smaller and less traveled ones. I don't there is ONE single nicest or best; they all have their merits.

Rome FCO: Nice traditional layout, seats right by gate, lots of shopping and stores.

Zurich Kloten: Great viewing, variety of airlines/airplanes, airplanes still kept on tarmac--love that bus ride!

Copenhagen Kastrup: Great shopping, great approach over the Baltic, nice terminals.

London Heathrow: Wow, plenty of variety of terminals (from old/traditional to modern/contemporary--I like them all!!), tons of air traffic, great mall/shopping/lounges.

Vienna Sche-something: Nice terminals, several airline-related hobby stores, Tyrolean airplanes still on tarmac--bus ride!

Zagreb Pleso: Small, cozy, old-school 1970s/80s vibe.

Warsaw Okecie: Moderate-sized airport, nice blend of modern and traditional.

FCO is nice, but the elegance the high technology in our new airport in VCE is probably one of the best in Europe.

Geneva (where else), great airport. Handy, near to town, well sized and great variety of traffic. From the summer VIPs to winter Ski Charters, we really get loads of special stuff.

On my hate list I'd probably put Nice up first: really horrible photo spots, dirty,etc... Though the approaches are something special.

Nice´s airport really isnt that bad. they get a lot of different traffic there considering the size of the airport. I enjoyed it when I went there.

My vote has to go to Copenhagen - Kastrup International Airport. Great shops/shopping, nice design, teak (wood) floors, great main cafe behind security which offers an incredible view of the tarmac.

    hii FOLKS  Big thumbs up

Are you all mad in this Forum????

FARO (LPFR) is the nicest airport in the Universe...  Big thumbs up

Nothing compares to this land... blessed by god, with this sun, this blue skys, this sea, and this views...

This is probably one of the moast safest aiport in Europe, in case of acident (crash or the aircraft not be abble to stop before the end of runway), Faro has a lagoon all around, In case of acident no civilians are injured. There are no houses on aproach paths, only sea, and the water is shallow.

The aproach has a fantastic view, nothing compares to that, specially on runway 28, just amazing to see the sailing ships, the white houses, the channells...

The instalations are new, new terminal with jetways, big boarding rooms, a lot of elevators or rolling stairs, good decorations, one, my favourite, the legend of santa maria on a carpet stand up on the wall, just amazing. The control tower has a modern look, the runway is equiped with ILS. We receive a lot of aircraft every year and some are biggy.

    "I'm not impartial." LMAO! Quality.

The nicest European airport? There is not one answer to this, because it depends upon the context. If it is the nicest airport in terms of rare movements, then somewhere like SVO or DME. If it is the nicest airport in terms of the time it takes to get out of the terminal after a flight, then NQY, EXT, PLH or BRS. If it is the nicest airport in terms of spotting facilities, then AMS or FRA.

    Hello,

The nicest European Airport? I think it would be Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, for several reasons. First of all, it's a very quick transfer airport, the longest walk will only be around 20 minutes. And all in one terminal!!! Second, if you've got long connection time, you can do several things, like going to the Rijks museum, have a nice massage, take a little nap in the terminal hotel or go the Holland Casino. And off course a nice big viewing terrace.

Without a doubt Copenhagen Kastrup is the most stylish European airport and is a delight to travel through.

Apart from it's inability to deliver luggage in any reasonable amount of time, London Stansted is also a good airport. I'm amazed by the number of people who like Heathrow - it can be a nightmare!

FRA Main - just love it. But that's probably because I have travelled into and out of this airport a zillion times and find its spotting facilities the best besides being a mini-city with all facilities you can think of under one roof.

Other favourites in Europe are CPH and BRU.

Why does so many think Amsterdam is so fantastic? I think it looks just like many other airports. I had to walk very long, in no special environment, to reach my gate.

AMS, CPH, and MUC are the best...BCN is nice too, and Pier F at ARN is nice as well [I think the rest of ARN is a little poorly planed], but it's a loooooooooooong walk to it.

As for worst...I was honestly really disappointed with VIE. I thought it was dark, crowded, and disorganised. My flight left from Pier A, which was horrible...I couldn't believe that the security check points were actually at each individual gate...my flight to New York and the flight to Washington were delayed almost an hour because of the long lines waiting to pass through security. Is it always like that? I'm sure when it was first built it was efficient, but now it seems really ineffective.

Other then that, LHR is pretty bad...it's just too uncontained.

I'm not exactly a veteran traveller of European airports. I've been to BRU, ZRH, ATH, LGW, BCN, CDG, FCO, and MXP. That makes it seem like I've been to Europe a lot more than I have too. LGW, BCN, CDG, FCO, and MXP were all only for arrival/departure and account for just two trips, so on some of those I didn't get to see much of the airport. Anyway, I haven't found any of them to be bad. BCN, FCO, and MXP just felt like airports. ZRH was interesting on the inside and had nice viewing, but was a little clostrophobic (sp?). ATH was nice and new, but still just felt like an airport and it was a long way to walk to get to the gate. CDG was quite nice on the inside and was pretty roomy with good viewing from the terminal. BRU was the same. My favorite though would have to be LGW. The airbridges were very cool, the inside was really roomy, and it felt like a shopping mall because a bunch of it was duty free shops. I really enjoyed LGW.
