Bag Matching

Thu Sep 18, 2003 11:06 pm

Maybe someone can clue me in.
At one point in time I remember that your butt and your bag had to be onboard the same flight/aircraft.
And if said "couple" wasn't, your bag was subject to removal, delaying the flight.
So how come at least on domestic US flights, bags have arrived on earlier or later flights than the one you actually flew on?
CO is nototorious at EWR especially on flights from ATL that are somewhat frequent and close together to ship bags ahead or after the PAX.

Involuntary baggage separation is not considered a breach in security (at least in the US).

However, if you've checked in and decide not to show up at the gate and your bag is not removed, there will be heads rolling and fines imposed.

PPBM is no longer required (at GSC's discretion) if the TSA is screening 100% of the checked bags onboard for explosives.

EWRvirgin I guess it depends on ones definition of "involuntary".
If you don't bother loading late boarding PAX bags because there is another flight in an hour or less, OR loading and sending early arriving PAX bags onward because at least they will be there when the PAX arrive constitutes involuntary.

Actually now that all checked bags are searched prior to loading onboard an aircraft we can send your bag on any flight we choose without any fear of fines imposed. We will take your bag off if there is time and it won't cause the flight to be delayed but otherwise if there is no time to remove it and your not on board guess what.....your bag is going to make it before you do.

HALTED SCREENING ALL CHECKED THE BAGS NOW!!!! Please stopping screening all-checked bags at US airport and let it go for putting on their belt and not go directly to the big x-rays machine and this is only for NRSA or Standby will screened. It was more than of 9 months with screening all checked bags already. When will stoppping screening all of those checked bags and it did not have any kind of explosives either. Passengers don't go to the x-rays bags area either and leave bags at the ticket counter and will do scanning itself with those bags. I want you please tell TSA that mean is no longer use screening of 100% checked bags at the airport either.

Scottysair: Why are you against screening of bags and passengers? Just because there have been no major security incidents lately doesn't mean we should become complacent about security.
