American Eagle is proud to be the first regional airline to introduce the "In-Flight Café/Buy On Board" meal service program. You now have the opportunity to purchase meals on board selected flights.

Dallas/Forth Worth, TX (DFW) - Cleveland, OH (CLE)
Dallas/Fort Worth, TX (DFW) - Milwaukee, WI (MKE)
Los Angeles, CA (LAX) - Northwest Arkansas Regional, AR (XNA).

See below for menu descriptions and pricing. Cash, credit and debit cards will be accepted.

NOTE: All meals listed are examples of menus. Meal selections may vary by flight and time.

Meals Include:

Breakfast Flights Only

Turkey and Brie with Cranberry Sauce Sandwich
Oven-roasted turkey breast with fresh lettuce, cranberry sauce and soft Brie cheese on challah bread. The sandwich is accompanied by a honeydew and mandarin orange salad, creamy yogurt and a side of granola. A bottle of spring water is included.

Coffee Crumb Cake
Coffee crumb cake and fresh honeydew and mandarin orange comes with creamy yogurt and a side of granola. A bottle of spring water is included.
Price: $7.00

Zucchini Bread Breakfast
A thick slice of zucchini bread with a side of Italian cream cheese. This bread is accompanied by a creamy flavored yogurt sprinkled with granola and raisins along with a spring strawberry salad. A bottle of spring water is included.
Price: $7.00

Turkey & Gouda Croissant
Turkey-ham and smoked Gouda cheese on a honey-wheat croissant with tangy English mustard. The sandwich is accompanied by a fruit salad of cantaloupe, strawberry, kiwi and a yogurt to complete the meal. A bottle of spring water is included.

Lunch/Dinner Flights Only

Club Mex Sandwich
Delicious smoked turkey complimented with pepper jack cheese, lettuce and tomatoes on a challah roll, with ancho-chili lime mayonnaise on the side. This sandwich is accompanied by a fresh tomato, artichoke and mozzarella salad. Also included are crunchy kettle potato chips and a signature Einstein chocolate truffle cookie. A bottle of spring water is included.

Classic Chicken Caesar Salad
Strips of roasted rosemary chicken piled high on a bed of romaine lettuce, topped with ripe tomatoes, sprinkled with shredded Parmesan cheese and handmade sourdough croutons. Cheesy Asiago herb flat bread and a signature Einstein chocolate truffle cookie accompany this salad. A bottle of spring water is included.

Pollo Caponata
Tender roasted chicken topped with provolone cheese, lettuce and tomato on an Italian rustica roll served with caponata relish. The meal is accompanied by a tortellini salad, and completed with a gourmet oatmeal raisin cookie. A bottle of spring water is included.

Balsamic Chicken and Strawberries Salad
Tender roasted chicken breast, goat cheese, strawberries and walnuts top a mix of fresh romaine and spring lettuces with balsamic vinaigrette on the side. The meal is accompanied by cheesy asiago flat bread, and completed with a gourmet oatmeal raisin cookie. A bottle of spring water is included.

Snack Flights Only

The Turkey Bite
Slices of roasted turkey, topped with lettuce and Cheddar cheese on a country dinner roll with a side of Dijonnaisse. The sandwich is accompanied by potato chips, raisins and a pack of Oreo cookies. Selections vary by flight.
Price: $5.00.

That is good news, if this program is successful, I hope that other airlines will follow for their regional networks.

I like this because the regional airlines have become a more important part of the travel experience in this country, and to make the in-flight service that much better is great.

Hopefully DLConnection will be watching closely!

Actually if Eagle started after Sept 2 - they're not the first. Mesaba started buy on board food with the Sept 2 schedule. Coach passengers have the option on most MEM-PHL and MEM-EWR flights to buy food on board. The program may evolve to include all flights with food in first, but currently with none in coach. Like - MSP-ASE, ORF, HPN, OKC - DTW-OKC, YHZ and MEM-ASE.

This was announced at the end of July and has been running since, I believe, 2 August.
