What Happened To Tower Air's Terminal?

Mon Oct 06, 2003 8:59 am

I'm guessing that it was divided with other airlines. Why did they have their own terminal anyway? Thanks for responding.

my understanding is that the tower terminal was the most out-of-the-way at JFK, which perhaps only added to pax frustrations with the carrier, and because of this it may not be surprising if it is not in use today...but i could be wrong.......

It wasn't a terminal, it was a hangar.

Back just before they went under. We had one land here at my base. When it parked, the #3 engine fell off!!! I refused to ever fly with them. Sorry for being a bit off subject....

I believe the terminal has been reverted to a hanger...actually when Tower used that location it was the 1st exit as u entered that maddening JFK circle.
It was short on amenities though.
How they survived serving Tel Aviv was beyond me.

Airjampanam-after that first exit, you had to drive all the way around the airport, making about 947 right turns and a similar number of lefts, and some of those turns didn't even have signs...

The terminal was an old hangar convereted to a terminal with a couple gates attatched, it's away from the Central Terminal area surrounded by cargo buildings and various airport facilities. It's vacant and not being used, it's also not likely ever to be used for passengers again.

If you click on this link you can see "part" of the former Tower Air terminal, some of the gates are still attatched. The "hangar"/ main terminal is out of the picture (scroll right).
