According to the FAA's website, Mr. T is typed on these aircraft (P means private privileges)
P/CE-500 P/G-1159 P/HS-125 P/LR-JET
That means he can fly
pilot in command in these aircraft (Citation, G-1159 Gulfstream, Hawker-Siddeley 125 srs, and Lear).
Now this is getting into one of my fuzzy areas, but
FAR 61's type rating requirements state that a type rating is only required for PILOT
IN COMMAND. If I've got that right, Travolta can be second in command (therefore acting as a required flight crew member) and be exempt from needing a type rating. Why doesn't he just go out and buy one, I have no idea. But he's legal flying that airplane without a type rating...as long as someone else is along with him acting as PIC
