Any Hubs That See Every Type Of Airline's Fleet?

Sat Nov 29, 2003 11:54 pm

What hubs see the hub airline's entire fleet?

AA A300 don't got to DFW (ORD?)
AA F-100 don't go to MIA
DL MD-90 don't go to ATL (maybe for maintenance)

I think all US hubs see the entire fleet.
Same for UA. 744 still at IAD?

Well, I guess this is probably not really the point here (I'm guessing that you're only asking about US airlines), but I'd say that most hubs of non-American airlines see just about every type in the airlines fleet... I'm quite certain that FRA, CDG, ZRH and VIE for example see everything in the fleets of LH, AF, LX and OS...

I remember at DTW for a long time we only saw Northwest fly in 744s and not 742s. Also while NW had the remaining MD-80s, they were rare at DTW.

I think for quite a while MSP didn't see the 744, just the 742 and I don't believe MSP is getting any service from the A330 for nearly a year.

MEM I don't think gets any NW 747s or A330s.

I think the 772 stopped serving CVG recently with Delta and I am not aware of the 764 flying to CVG.

CLE doesn't see anything larger than a 752 for Continental

Does the US A330 fly to PIT?

Here at MCO we see just about everything from Delta except for the 738, although I have seen it here a few times.

MCO will be seeing DL 737-200 service again from CVG. When I moved here in May we saw a lot of it on Delta Express

DL 733 service from LGA starting Dec

DL 752 service from many places- mainline- CVG, SLC, I think one from LGA (everything else is Song) I believe still mainline from DFW too. All other DL 752 flights are song.

DL 762- I believe starting Dec will have a daily from ATL

DL 763- several from ATL and one from SLC

DL- 764 many from ATL

DL- 772 one daily from ATL, more daily in summer from ATL

DL- MD80- many from CVG, DFW

DL- MD90 one daily from DFW

DL- MD-11s used to fly here from ATL, are there any still in fleet?

DL Express we see CRJ-100,200, ERJ 135, 145... although no CRJ-700s

I think this is a very US centric question. Almost all other major cities in Europe see the entire fleet of the carriers based there.

I'm quite certain that FRA, CDG, ZRH and VIE for example see everything in the fleets of LH, AF, LX and OS...

Leskova.. I thought about LH too but I dont think their A340-200s operate any scheduled flights out of FRA. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Delta will be flying the 737-800s into MCO starting Jan 7.
One will operate each day from DFW-MCO and one from SLC-MCO.
737-800 departures will both be MCO-SLC each day.

ORD sees UALs entire mainliner fleet, not to sure about express but there is a concourse devoted to Express flights so i dont know
AA everything except A300, they used to fly here but not any more. Again their express fleet, they used to fly their ATR's here, but they introduced the slogan "Nothing But Jet" leaving o'hare with no American Eagle props.

Vimanav, I'm actually not quite sure about the 342s - or, as it should read by now, the 342 (or are they already down to 0?): I know they used to fly it out of FRA, I saw it scheduled to EWR, PHL and one or two destinations as well, but - as I've mentioned - I'm not even sure if they have any left, since they were all scheduled to go to SAA...

F9 in DEN  Smile 733s, A318, A319 - real easy. Same with Midwest Express in MKE.

What about NW in MSP or DTW? 742/744s, 330s, 320/319, 757, DC9. Does MSP or DTW not see any of these?

UA in ORD? 744, 777, 767, 757, 733/735, 320/319? I'd assume they all get out there.

I'd assume that AS in SEA sees it all, and probably PDX as well, although not sure about AS 739s in PDX. QX in PDX gets it all I'd bet.

While you're correct that PHL and CLT see the entire mainline fleet (since PIT no longer has scheduled 762 flights), none of the hubs sees the entire express fleet. The J41's are only operated out of BWI (by Trans States). I'm not sure where Colgan is flying the B1900C, but they only fly from BOS, LGA, PIT, DCA, not PHL or CLT. I believe that Piedmont only operates the Dash 8-300 out of CLT. And so on.
I'm the expert on here on two things, neither of which I care about much anymore.

Once AA's F-100 is retired, MIA will be the only hub to see the entire AA mainline fleet. None of thier other four hubs see the 762. ORD, STL, and DFW do not see the A300 either. SJU and STL also do not see the 738 (eff. 6 January) or 772. In addition, no M80s to SJU.

This reminds me. Interesting since AA has to compete w/ UA at ORD, that hub is all-jet. But at MIA, does AE fly regional jets? I think not, because there is no other airline hubbing.

AA doesn't fly 767-200 into DFW????  Confused

RE: Any Hubs That See Every Type Of Airline's Fleet?

Seattle has all types operated by Alaska and Horizon...

You can also see all/if not most of Delta's types: 764, 763, 762?, 752, 737, MD-80, etc...at least, I've seen those in the past.

Southwest shows it's colors (both the old brown and new blue) in various types.

Jetblue...of course! A320!!!

Northwest has everything except DC9s and 744s (excluding Mesaba and other commuter partners of course).

You can see Frontier's A319s and 737s.

And of course, there is United at the North Concourse, with the 733, 735, 752, 767 (200 or 300?), 772, A319, A320, etc, etc... (everything except the 744 basically...including aircraft from Skywest).

Tokyo Haneda sees pretty much all of ANA and JAL (including the now JAS fleet except the MD 80 for most routes). But I think that Fukuoka (FUK) sees a good combination of everything: JAL 744D, JAL 762, JAL 763, JAL 772, JAL 773, JEX 734, JTA 734, JAC YS11, JAC Saab 340, BN-2, ANK 734, ANK 735, ANK 763, ANA 735, ANA A320, ANA A321, ANA 744D, ANA 763, ANA 772, ANA 773, JAL DC-10, JAL MD-11, etc, etc, etc...

Iberia, almost, its 4 A319s are only based in MIA, they do not operate them in Europe.

I'd be curious to know how much of the UA fleet doesn't hit IAD. The only planes I'd venture to guess wouldn't see time there are the 762s, though they probably come in on 763s subs fairly often. I was suprised to see an UAEX Avro there last night, but I'm quite sure the EMB-120s aren't going to make it all the way out from Cali...

In a way, BOS fits this for DL...

...though it doesnt see certain fleet types, Boston is the only airport which sees all forms of Delta's operation (Delta mainline, Delta Shuttle, Delta Economy-Only, Song, Delta Connection, and Delta Worldwide Partners codeshare) on a scheduled basis.

AS in SEA and ANC see all fleet types. LAX would except for the 732s.

An even more interesting question might be what non-hubs see an entire airlines fleet. For AS I think FAI is about the only one.

Again false because Skywest and CO are two different carriers. Just because Skywest is operating as a Continental Continental doesn't mean their fleet is included part of CO. BTW, if ya want to include connection carriers, IAH doesn't see B1900Ds from Commut Air or Gulfstream buddy.

STL saw all of TW's correct?

when AA took over the only thing missing was the 777, F-100, 738 and A300.

Now, STL is missing the 767, and 777 and F-100 and A300.

Actually STL is already getting the 737-800 with a scheduled flight to/.from SNA and BOS.

STL sees with AA All regionals, S80, 752, and 738, thats it mainline.

**An even more interesting question might be what non-hubs see an entire airlines fleet. For AS I think FAI is about the only one**

Orlando is a non hub

Sees all of Delta's fleet except MD-11 (if still in fleet) and it did up to a couple months ago.

Orlando also sees everything from USAirways mainline except A330

MCO sees pretty much all of Southwests fleet, although I haven't seen a 732 for a couple months

MCO sees Air Trans whole fleet, Jet Blues and Spirits.

MCO sees almost all of Continentals fleet except the 777-200, but that is sometimes used as a substitution. It sees all of the 737 series, the 752 and 753, we get an afternoon 764 from IAH and the 762 is supposed to return this month. We also get an MD-80 from IAH.

Do you see Beech 1900s (Air Midwest at MCI) at PHL and CLT? Just wonderin'.

Air Midwest does fly its B1900D's out of PHL and CLT. (It was an Air Midwest flight that went down in CLT in January as US 5481.  Sad) They also fly out of MCI, PIT, and intra-Florida.

However, as I stated in post 16, PHL and CLT do not see some of the other types in the US Airways Express fleet.
I'm the expert on here on two things, neither of which I care about much anymore.

ORD sees UALs entire mainliner fleet...
No, it doesn't - there are no scheduled B762 flights to/from ORD.

The B742 ceased service to/from MSP and DTW last month, so no NW hubs receive every fleet type.
