Thats a tough one. Soooooooo many choices!!! I guess I would go with an old DC-9. because I think they look real cool and I like everything about them, especially the old instrument panel. I would convert the interior to my likings, of course.

It may sound strange, but I'd actually like a small thing like a Beech King Air 350 or a Beech Baron, since it would be light & fun to fly.

Besides, if I want to fly longhaul, I'd rather do it in the pax cabin, sleeping  Wink/being sarcastic

Simply for the pure joy of flying and taking a friend along to enjoy that flying, it would have to be a Schleicher ASH-25E. If your going to fly big wings then this is the aircraft to do it in.

I guess I might be the odd one here, but I'd go with either a Socata Trinidad TB20 because I like single engine props with retractable gear ( and okay, because I am from Trinidad too )

otherwise, I can settle for a Cessna 206 Amphibian with a turbo prop upgrade.

How about a nice Il-62 or AN-124... Tu-154 or something like that... I also think that the A-318 is very cute! Maybe a 727 or a 737-200...

My second runner up, however, would be the "Wobblin' Goblin," the F-117 Nighthawk

Superfly, you have got the right idea.

But deck that onto Concorde, roll the reel to reels, let Jimmie Walker out the bathroom with his sax and now we are flying!

Also, a close runner up is the Stearman BiPlane.

You need to pick up Maynard Ferguson's album 'Conquistador' (1977).
It is the ultimate flying LP. All 6 songs are related to flying and the album is a masterpiece.
Everytime I hear that album, I get images of polyester suits, private lear jets with with cocktail tables with lines of cocaine, Mark Vs, ladies wearing long sequenced gowns and all that other fun stuff related to the late 1970s. Big grin

That last pix is BS even though its fake, it I know all the important parameters for this plane, and that thing does not have the power req's to go above 200,000 feet. Maybe a vertical coast but never a service ceiling...  Yeah sure .. and some fools think that can take a weapons rank...ha.

I noticed a few of you guys wishing you had your own private A380 or 747 and i gotta ask why do you wabt something so big? You'd be very limited to the amount of airports you could fly into not to mention the cost of hangaring/mainting the thing. I'd much rather something small/sleek and fun to fly like a Learjet/Gulfstream or 717  Smile

Why is this STILL in the non-av forum?

Anyway, I would choose the Challenger 604ER for medium haul, Global Express for long range haul, and for short range, I'd go with the Cessna Citation X.

Nothing better than an early model Cessna 185. Skis, wheels and floats...and the early ones were light enough to have a good payload. Year round flying to anywhere you want to go. What could be better?

for those who want the A380 and the 747, what would you do with all that space?

in my A318 i'd have an office, bedroom and regular seating for about 10 - 15 people. not too extravigant but at least i could land it at FRG.  Smile

To answer those who have asked; "why the A380 or 747".
This is all a pipe dream.
I'd rather work as a full-time pilot or just rent small planes. Don't have to deal with all the maintenance headaches.

Some of us do have lots of friends and like to party in style. Big grin  Smokin cool
Nothing can top the 747 (any series).

This would be a really hard decision, but I'd have to vote for a BBJ. Has a nice range, can land in lots of places, and it would be perfect for me a couple of close friends.

Of course......that F-14 would make a nice addition as a sports car, and an A-10 Warthog for just plain fun.

The 727-200 or 737-200 hold a special place in my heart. They're sized right and look so cool. If it was in AQ's current or former livery I could die. Dreams.

I'd also be happy with a 707, DC-8, L10-11, DC-10 or 747 Classic.

If I inherit some money, a Cirrus SR-22.

If I win the lottery, a Pilatus PC-12.

If I find Bill Gates' lost wallet, a B752 w/ long range tanks and a movie theater as part of the interior (I saw one on UAE's B744, A6-YAS).
