What Are You Into: Civil Only; Light; Military?

Fri Jan 02, 2004 8:07 pm

I'm personally only interested in civil aviation. Are you, like me, only interested in civil aviation, or are you also into light aircraft or military aircraft or both?

Only civil here, too. I've never had any interest in military stuff, whether it's planes, tanks, etc.

I am interested mainly in Civil only, however, I do like military stuff as well.
Although I am interested in Civil mainly, evey time I see a military aircraft such as a Tornado, F15 etc... I think its an amazing sight (and sound) and it never fails to impress me - the military aircraft that always sticks in my mind is the B1B.

However aviation is aviation, be it civil, military or light, and I love aviation!  Smile

And another one...  Big grin

Civil aviation - military planes don't only look boring, they're simply not interesting at all... and just think what, with the purchase price of some of those military planes around, could be done for civil aviation...
Smile - it confuses people!

I primarily like military aviation. I personally don't see how anyone can call military aviation "boring," especially if they were to attend an airshow with a variety of dynamic displays or when a top-notch demonstration team (Thunderbirds, Blue Angels, Red Arrows, Snowbirds, for instance) are present. The brute force combined with the grace of modern warplanes never ceases to amaze me. While I do enjoy it, civil aviation is like being a fan of Greyhound busses compared to Ferraris, Corvettes, and Lamborghinis.

One's slow, sedate, and boring with little variation between designs. The other is edge of the envelope, fast, and exciting with a wide array of designs. An F-117 boring? An Su-27 boring? Never! Which would I rather watch - an A380 demonstration as it flies lazy circles in the sky, or a full demonstration of an attack on an airfield using a combined force of F-15Es and F-16s? Gimme the Strike Eagles and Falcons any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Only civil. Don't know why, there's just something a lot cooler about a 747 than a Cessna or F-16.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I'm mainly into airliners, a little into bizjets and G.A.
I avoid military aviation, ventilators, gliders, blimps, air balloons, flying pigs, birds, bees, etc...

Civil only... I've tried to get into Military jets but they haven't held my attention.
Nothing beats sitting at any major entry point airport and watching airliners all day.

For me...both Commercial Airlines & Airliners and GA aircraft. Now if we could just get Discovery "Wings" channel to dedicate more programming to civil aircraft and not 90% military, I'd be a happy camper! Anxiously awaiting A&E's new series that starts Monday...hope it matches the hype.

Enjoy Flying!
