I think its when you are on a night flight and the person next to you has the light on and off many times thought out the flight.

I totally agree with 7574EVER and Sushka! I think it's even worse when they slam the seat back and you are still having dinner! That just annoys the heck out of me.
When it comes to annoying kids, I usually try to keep them entertained by making them paper planes( if they are on the same row or a row behind or in front of me), that keeps them somewhat behaved for a few minutes and then they usually tend to lose their patience and get hyper again..Oh well, it's worth a shot at times.

Cheers,

TLIMA.

When you book a window seat, then arrive at the airport to find you've been bumped to the middle by someone with higher "priority"

Pet peeve: When the person in front of me refuses to bring his seatback to the full upright position (or at least raise it somewhat) while the meal/snack/drink service is being served. It's hard enough to eat in coach anyway with the seat in front of you upright, it's a downright nuisance to eat when the seat is reclined. To each his/her own I guess.

During landing or takeoff and the person in your row next to the window shuts it. I don't know but isn't there a rule that all windows are suppose to be open? I thought I heard that once.

Yes, I hate it on night flights when half the plane, or just as bad, the person in front of you has their light one. I had a night flight once out of DCA to CVG and just wanted a little sleep. I had not gotten a good nights rest before(Hilton bed was lumpy) and just wanted to sleep, but that ass in the seat in front of me was just too interested in this novel he was reading. Not only did he read the damn thing throughout the whole flight, but he held it up above his seat so that even I could read it. After not being able to sleep, I just sat there and stared at the book and was hoping his arm would cramp up. I don't have the first reason why he held it that far up in the first place.

Makes me wish those First Class snakelights were in coach as well.

I believe your right. My sister and brother-in-law were once on an ATA 727 and an irate passenger refused to keep his shade up. In the end the F/O had to come back and straighten him out.

When some fool complains becuse I have a little light on to read a book. It's aimed, not in your eyes, but at the book. Can't sleep, too bad, you'll live.

LOL......that's the way I look at it.  Big grin

I find that if I must have total darkness in order to sleep that a pair of $5.99 eyeshades available at most any airport newsstand will solve that little problem. These eyeshades are washable and reusable.

I have never heard of a rule that requires window shades to be open for take-off and/or landing. Never heard of an FAR that even remotely even suggests it.

There might be an airline someplace with a company policy to that effect, but I have no idea why they would make it.
