I saw it for the first time tonight, put a tape on and recorded both episodes.
It was a real eye opener. I used to think it might be kinda fun to be a CSA for an airline but I've changed my mind. I certainly don't envy their job!
That lady showing up 20 minutes before departure and missing her flight takes the cake. She gets all pissed off and says "I can't believe they're blaming it on me can you believe that?"
Yeah, I can lady, because it's YOUR FAULT for showing up to the airport late! It is your fault, not SWA's! Then she says she wants to sue SWA (Yeah, she'd lose quick), and runs around the airport making a total fool out of herself, before coming back to WN
with her tail tucked between her legs. Fortunately this time a CSA goes out of her way to help this lady....and suddenly she, I guess her name is Sharon from the posts above, likes WN
again. Pathetic. I felt so bad for her kids.
The story with the boy was nice. The conflict with the iranian guy over the broken lock on the luggage was interesting. He didnt seem to get it that in the USA now, all locks are broken. You can't just tell them not to, it's policy and it doesnt matter what you say.
Guy with the shotgun....didnt want it inspected because he'd taken care in wrapping it. But he didnt have to be such a jerk about it. Yeah, extra security sucks, you can thank OBL
for that. His "Arab" comment was over the top.
The scenes from the second night at MDW
during the blackout didnt paint Southwest in a very good light I fear. They put up people for the first night in hotels but were going to refuse to do it for the second night even though many of the same people were stranded from the night before. In the end though the manager lady did give them hotel stays....but still.
This is a real eye opening show. I cant say that it paints Southwest in a good light. To the casual viewer who knows nothing about standard rules in aviation, it probably makes WN
look cold and uncaring at times. To us aviation enthusiasts, we see the CSA's doing their job despite what abuse they take, so for us, it paints them in a good light.
God, I cannot believe that one woman who kept insisting on a free ticket because of what those BMX kids did on that flight. They offered her a 50 dollar voucher and she still wanted more. Some people will take advantage of any opportunity to make a buck or avoid spending a buck. I understand it was a terrible flight for her and others, but that's not entirely SWA's fault, and her insistence on a free ticket shows that the distruption, in her mind, was the perfect opportunity to try and cheat the system.
What is BMX anyway?
