LH Jet Stranded In PHX

Apparently, a LH jet damaged it's nose gear last Saturday in PHX and has been stuck here ever since.
Isn't that an unusually long time for a widebody to be out of circulation? I would have thought that parts and mechanics would have been flown in and the plane repaired at least enough to ferry to somewhere with heavy maintenance facilities by now.
Does anyone know more about what happened to this plane?

I noticed that 340 sitting out by the end of 7L too. I would think that they would have flown in mechanics as well to fix it enough to ferry it out as well. I wonder if HP still has the ability to service heavies? After all they did operate 747's for a while there, but i guess that was a long time ago.....the equipment is probably long gone. I wish i could help you out with that question, but i'm somewhat baffled here  Smile

I've been wanting to get a reg. number on it, but have been unsuccessful. For the past 3 days, it's been sitting at the west cargo facility. Since LH is pulling out of PHX, I don't mind seeing that A340-300 gracing the tarmac.

That's is correct for LH is pulled out of PHX in the next month of February 2004 and someday this mean would like to come back into PHX again. I don't mind of you guys about getting with the information.

I believe the registration is D-AIMF. That plane seems to be a frequent visitor here and now it's making an extended stay.
