UA Red Carpet Club

Fri Jan 23, 2004 11:18 am

Does anyone know if UA Coach Passengers can use Red Carpet Club for a fee?
I will be traveling on UA, SFO-NRT-BKK in Feb. I was hoping to use the red carpet club in NRT.

I know with VS it is possible for non gold flying club, econ pax to use the clubhouse for a fee.

Im not sure they are very anal about that room, they have some person inside and when it gets too loud outside they come out and tell every one to shut up. I'm not too sure what it takes to get into there, I'm premier so I don't even know if they'll let me in. But those guys at UAL are very nice and will probably find a way to work you in.

GOOD LUCK!

I pay my membership fee every year. I've never heard of a "day pass." I would hope they don't offer that because sometimes the Clubs get a bit crowded. Red Carpet Clubs are not a benefit for frequent flyers...not even for 1K, let alone Premier members. You need to pay extra to use them, though the membership fee depends on your frequent flyer status.

However, if you're flying international business class, you can use the Red Carpet Clubs. Just show your ticket/boarding pass. Won't work with an Economy ticket.

Red Carpet Clubs are not a benefit for frequent flyers...not even for 1K, let alone Premier members.

Actually, United provides access into the Red Carpet Clubs to Premier Executive, 1K, and UGS customers when traveling on an itinerary with an international segment.

Also, all Star Gold customers are provided access into all RCC, or any Star Gold lounge within the Star Alliance network, again if they are traveling on an itinerary with an international segment.

There was actually a post about this at FlyerTalk the other day, which stated (here) that day-passes to domestic RCCs are available for $50 – I'm not sure if the same holds true for international RCCs.

Hope this helps!

Derek....I've always used my RCC card for United run clubs abroad, but you're likely correct. My Gold card gets me in everywhere. At Amsterdam, it gives me access to a lounge you can't get into with a RCC card. At Lufthansa, I've been able to access both of their lounges...Senator with my gold card and and Business/Frequent Traveller with my RCC.

Some of the lounges are really getting crowded. They should do away with day passes...but they likely need the revenue.

QZ444, if you have a regular travel agent, ask them to ask their UA sales rep. if they may give an "invitation" aka day pass, to them to give to you, but make sure it is valid for an international RCC. They may be able to accomodate this request. Heck, ask for two, one for each direction. I know they just remodeled the RCC at NRT and it's suppose to be really nice. A virtual tour of the club used to be available on the united.com website. Good Luck and let me know what happens!
