2 flights in WN 737 sims at DAL - one take-off, one landing, and a longer session in a Falcon 50 at Simuflight near DFW. These were in connection with MicroWings flight simulation conferences back in the mid '90s.

Got a some stick time in an AC A320 sim at AC's YYZ Training Centre. Was quite a simple aircraft to FLY, systems are complex sure, but hand flying was quite easier, easier than the Cessna 150 I'm used to at least, very smooth and stable the 320 was. Got to do a takeoff and landing at "CYYZ" and sat in for the next 2 guys in my group to have their go. One of the teachers at my school (flying school/college program) is an AC A320 Captain so he hooked 20 mins of stick time to all students in the class. Best field trip I can remember!

...when I worked in ZRH I met some Fedex Pilots who use/used the Swissair Facilities for A310 and MD-11 in Zuerich. They took me out one day and I flew a A310 into "LHR" and "ZRH". It was fun but also very frustrating when you crash land all the time...

Do any of you know of places with sims in the NY area? I was going to do it in florida but it struck me as too expensive ($400 an hour). IS this what they usually cost?

Just before Christmas I got to fly a 747 classic sim at SAA in Johannesburg, as the classics are being replaced with Airbus the sim is standing idle most of the time, got about 3 hours in (with 2 other people) thankfully didn't crash!

The motion and position freeze facilities are useful if you get out of control!

After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF...

I was very very lucky when I was 12 years old. I spent the summer with my aunt in Paris, and one of her close friends husband was a pilot for UTA airlines. He took me, along with his kids, to their flight training center, and I got to fly in a DC-10 flight simulator. I thought the computer graphic at the time were neat, though thinking back today it was all green lines. But still, the feeling of turbulence, and the motion of the machine made it for a very memorable time for a lucky 12 year old kid. I did manage to land the plane too (with a little help!)  Smile

There is a firm in North Yorkshire (http://www.yorkshireflightcentre.co.uk) with a 737-200 simulator which I have flown (thanks to a birthday present from my wife ). It was definitely an experience that I would recommend to anyone.
As for my performance - I'm sure I would have had my passengers reaching for the sick bag - lol.

just finished my annual sweat session in the 727 sim,at Pan Am in MSP, the box is definitely tougher than the airplane. Great training though, and one of the few times a year I get to shoot a full NDB approach with an engine out down to minimums. cool, cool,.
the rumble of round engines is like music to me,likewise the thunder of thr JT8D

I got the chance to do a takeoff and landing in a US Airways 737-300 at their simulator facility in PIT last year. I have never flown before, and I actually managed to get it up and down without crashing. Not bad, huh? It's probably the closest I will ever come to being a pilot though.  Sad

Who made the concorde simulators and what happened with those? Surely only a handful were made?
