Airport/City That Is A Great Commuter Hub

Sat Feb 07, 2004 8:30 am

I was just wondering which airport or city would make a great hub for a commuter airline with the following aircraft: Beech 1900, and CRJ-900. Please specify the routes that would be best to.  Smile

Thanks Everyone,

I don't know about a Beech 1900, but I think Denver would be a great hub because of all the demand for flights from Denver to Aspen, Steamboat, and Vail.

PIT would have great potential, assuming USAir dies. The 1900s could fly the short hops the USexpress does right now and the the CRJ900s could fly to larger cities such as ORD/MDW, PHL, DCA/IAD, BWI, LGA/EWR/JFK, DFW, HOU.

Albany,NY is currently a mini-hub for Continental connection. They fly only B1900 a/c and last I checked flew about 75 departures/day from here. It has worked out pretty well for them from what I've heard.

I would pick RDU, BNA, CMH, MCI, AUS, COS or RNO. Or, heck, how about all of them. How many planes you got?
