A321 In BUF?

Sun Feb 08, 2004 7:01 am

To all:

As I was driving home from work, what appeared to be an A321 was making the approach to BUF. I did not recognize the livery as it was overall white with red/blue trim. Any ideas?

As discussed in another forum, US flies A321s into BUF now, from PHL (ROC had them for awhile, as well). The morning departure is routed BUF-PHL-LAX.

Flight: US Airways flight 678 on a Airbus 321 Jet - non-stop
Depart:  Philadelphia, PA (PHL) - Tue, Feb 10 at 7:50pm
Arrive: Buffalo, NY (BUF) - Tue, Feb 10 at 9:05pm

Srbmod:

That's it. I was too far away to get a very good look although it was
obvious that it was not a 320 or 757. As far as I know, there have not been
any 321's in BUF before(at least that I have seen) although admittedly, there aren't many 321's in the States(only US, I believe).

Neat ship though.

Thanks much.

Where do you keep finding US A321? Last time you said US flight 21 now it's flight 678 but Flytecomm does not have ether. And it also shows Ryan 615 from CAN is an A320. Is it because Flytecomm is junk?

Mu2: On usairways.com

Flight numbers can change depending on the day of the week, season, etc. For example, that A321 flight coming into BUF tonight is #1062.

By the way, the flight 21 you are referring to is the return leg, BUF-PHL.

I am interested in the flights you mentioned. US Arbii are relatively rare in
BUF, let alone a 321. BUF still remains the preserve of the 734 and the RJ's.

Right. They are new to BUF. ROC got US Airbuses first in upstate, then SYR. BUT this is not really a capacity increase since US eliminated the second early morning 737 PHL flight with a ERJ. Plus, PIT service has gone down to 2 737s and 3 SF3s for the summer.

Here in Manchester, NH USAirways would use the A321 on a semi-routine basis as a substitute for their late-night arrival from PIT. It would go out the next morning to PHL. The schedules never showed the A321, but it came in with regularity. Now, the A321 is a mainstay at MHT. My point is that this is what may be happening at BUF: the A321 shows up but the schedules don't indicate that it should.

To all those unbelievers: If you look at the schedule on usairways.com, sabre, etc. you will see that the A321 is regularly scheduled into BUF now.
