has upgraded their FF
program officially known as AQ
Pass. Not surprisingly it is now a tier system. (Silver, Gold and Diamond if I am not mistaken...Silver the lowest and up from their.) In any case, I have some questions I thought my fellow a.nets might be able to answer in order to save myself some phone time to AQ
and having to deal with, "Push 1 if you would like information about..., Push 2 if you would like to speak to a friendly CSA, Push 3 if you would like to speak to an UNfriendly CSA, otherwise please hang up because we don't have enough CSA's to handle all of your phones calls at this time...BUT Thank you for choosing AQ
Ok satire aside, here goes...The old Executive Club lounges are now called Ali'i Clubs. Are you no longer able to buy access into these lounges anymore? Before the upgrade, AQ
allowed you to purchase membership into EC
, like you would by a UA
RCC membership. It was a yearly membership according you lounge access, pre-boarding privileges, priority/F-Class check line, etc. It looks like they took that away? Have they? Can you still buy a year's membership with AQ
Pass miles or is that gone as well? It seems you have to "qualify" for that now. As I did not qualify for Silver status for 2004, upgraded program was not announced until Jan. of this year, hence I did not know I needed to qualify for anything this year, I now have no lounge access or any of the privileges that go with it.
This really sucks because I am a member of the EC
Plus travel program for small businesses with AQ
and one of the perks of being a member of that program was lounge access. BTW, membership into EC
Plus is FREE and you still got lounge access. That has now been taken away and the EC
Plus program strictly functions as a program for small business, that's it. Oh, they keep your profile in their reservations system and all ticketing is ET
. I have been offered, along with all of the other EC
Plus members who did not qualify for an elite tier, an upgrade to Silver status....for the price of $120.
Last year I was Gold with HA
, just for the asking actually. I was a qualifying Platinum with HA
for two years prior. Gold got me mileage bonuses, lounge access, pre-board, F Class check-in, etc. While HA
does not have a program similar to AQ
Plus, it's really not that difficult to decide who really wants my business.
I will wait to see the replies on this one...It's gonna be interesting.
