on-line check in is the best thing ever!

i use it when i can for aa, ua, and co when i do not have bags to check. it will allow you to choose your seat if one has not been assigned, and then will allow you to print your boarding pass, which you take with you to the airport, and proceed to your gate.

its incredibly easy, the only snag i hit is i usually have some security issue and cant check-in online, though it only happens when i buy a one-way ticket at the last minute for business reasons.

give it a try, and you get some bonus miles too i believe.

safe flying!

I used it in SNA and SEA in December,it was very smooth. There was always someone there to tag my bag.

How does it work if you have bags to check? Can you use it if the trip was booked on miles?

I would assume that you would not have a problem at age 15 since United's website says that unaccompanied minor service is optional for kids between 12-17. So you should be treated like any adult passenger so you should be able to use web check-in with no problem.

no, security wont say anything to you about your easy check in, it is your boarding pass, they are just there to screen you.

however, if you feel you need an escort past security for any reason, then you need to walk up to a ticketing agent to request.

so no worries about it all, its easy, kinda cool, and wont cause you issues.

ps--for those that have bags to check, i believe it tells you to see a ticketing agent (not sure, as i have never done this though)

Hey American757,

I'm 16 and I flew COS-DFW and back by myself , the security people will just ask you for an ID to see that you really are who it says in the boarding pass.

Good question American757 about your school ID. Not sure what the ID requirements are for a minor traveling alone. Normally, they require a government issued ID, but not everyone has a driver's license or state ID. I don't think that you will have any problems though since you will already have your boarding pass. Hope you file a trip report!

I've used school IDs before at airports, it's fine. They never pay much attention to minors and their ID anyway.

On the bag tag units, the bag tag prints behind the counter for a CSR to attach to your bag tag and verify ID. ID is only required for those 18 and older.

Here is what you will like.....go to www.unitedeasy.com
You will find a demo of the Easy Check In so you can practice before you even get to the airport! You will be a pro at it and we will send you an application!  Big grin

Thanks for flying UA!!!
