Who's got the best in-flight magazine? (Please consider content, aesthetics, entertainment, writing quality, and everything and anything you can think of.)

I think it's UA Hemisperes. Always a very artsy cover and the "Three Perfect Days in..." series is a winner in my opinion.

I don't know where it stands now, but AA's American Way magazine has won numerous awards in the past. Interestingly enough, American Airlines Publishing also publishes Southwest's in-flight magazine, Spirit.

I've always liked AA's annual Road Warriors competition, and now they include little tips in every issue from road warriors. Nice touch.

Check 'em out here:

Easily SAA Sawubona! Huge fold out route map with fleet info. Content is well written, as well. You can tell the South Africans are proud after reading the inflight magazine

Qantas' inflight magazine is quite good, 'The Australian Way'

Thai Airways also has an EXCELLENT one, 'Sawasdee, which means welcome or hello or something like that.
Here are some front covers of of a lot of airlines.

I like ones with good fleet details and route listing. BA's Highlife is very good for this. The mag is good too actually.

Emirates' 'Open Skies' is pretty good too. The layout is excellent, the articles quite entertaining and the magazine itself very thick (although half the pages are in Arabic).

Without being obviously biased --

Air Canada's enRoute Magazine.

This publication has won best In-Flight Magazine award for several years standing, and has a large paid circulation. More like a coffee-table magazine than those found in the US, which are 99% advertising.

Also - agree SAA's Sawubona well laid out.

BWIA's Caribbean Beat, is the most entertaining magazine I have have read onboard. Great artilces on a wide variety of subjects.

US Airways Attache and American's American Way isn't too bad, but very focused on business.

A nice feature with AA's American Way magazine, is that they are changed out every two weeks, and each cover & cover story feature a celebrity.

I like this as well.... but what I turn to first is Jim Shahin's article in the back, then up to the road warrior stories/tips.

In my own personal experience, MEA's CedarWings magazine is by far the best, the biggest, the heaviest, and the highest of quality in both content and physical quality!

I also really like United's Hemisphere magazine.

British Airways' Highlight magazine is nice, but too small.

British Mediterranean's Impressions magazine on the other hand is fantastic.

My favorites are:

US airlines: UA Hemispheres (nice & thick with interesting stories, artistic
cover, lots of colorful airport maps, etc).
AA American Way (another great US airline mag, with interesting
stories, airport diagrams, fleet pictures, etc).

Foreign airlines: My favorite--Aer Lingus CARA--full of everything Irish, for the
Irishman in me! Nice, thick magazine full of
interesting adverts and articles.
BA Highlife
BMI

Others I'd like to get my hands on: Aeroflot, Saudi Arabian, El Al, JAL, VS, EgyptAir

Celebrated Living magazine is the luxury magazine for American Airlines premium class passengers, and is on board all AA flights in first and business class. This latest edition is also available in all American Airlines Admirals Clubs worldwide and online at http://www.celebratedliving.com.

I don't really like DLs Sky Magazine. AmericanWay has much more interesting articles. BUT, I do like the route map in Sky showing the specific flights from city to city - not just a map with dots of cities served. Nice to see that you can get to X city from DFW and ATL, but not CVG for example.

UA HEMISPHERES - www.hemispheresmagazine.com
Overall layout, really good reading, cover design changes monthly & constant. Sadly, no fleet in mag. Great entertainment section, route maps, airport maps, and other airline information.

PR MABUHAY -
Mag layout changes constantly, great reading, photo quality superb, paper glossy, great route map, and entertainemtn section, as well as airline information.

Other (so so) favs (not in particular order):
BA, US, AC, Aeroflot (90's version - extremely great route maps), SQ, AF, LH, SN, SWISSAIR,

Speaking of route maps, Qantas' The Australian Way constantly has the destinations wrong - for example, it has never shown BNE-ZQN and SYD-ZQN, just WLG, CHC and AKL from Aus. AT least give Queenstown some credit, as it is easily one of the world's best airports (for backdrop, landing/take off, scenery)....

And they had Chicago in there for a while and finally took it out recently!

I really wish airlines could get their route maps right in the inflight mags...

Do many inflight mags have info on the a/c in the fleet?

My picks...
KLM's holland herald- small but great route maps
Qantas's Australian Way- great photos
AC EnRoute is overall excellent- thick and entertaining
UA Hemispheres has gone down a lot- no more airport articles or actual routes, just those annoying dots on the route map!
Air New Zealand Panorama (but they took the name from Ansett)
I don't really find the celebrity hometown guide think in American Way very interesting.
BA's isn't bad
Malaysia Going Places has nice pictures, but weird route map
Voyeur, Spirit are mostly advertising
SAS Scanorama looks good
744, what you said as well as Deltaffindfw- American Way's map seems cheap.
Didn't really like the format of JAL's magazine, Wings?
And that's about all I remember that are noteworthy. Most US carriers' have too many ads or a little bit too much about business.

I think that NW WorldTraveler magazine is the best. It has fold out maps of its US, Atlantic, and Pacific operations. It shows what cities they fly from and to, and also what cities their partner and alliance airlines fly. They have great detail in fleet discription and interisting articles. I really enjoy the article written every month from the CEO Richard Anderson. All in all I like it better than UA and CO. Americans is a close second though.

AF magazines are very cool
2 magazines: AF magazine and AF Madame
Beautyful pictures, they not only talking about French destinations, but any place in the world; they are also talking about fashion, food,...

At the end of the AF magazine, you have the maps of the network, and even more important, clear explanations for the transit in the Paris airport (based on the terminals you use, the number and the color of the bus you have to use.)There is also on the last page a feedback report that you can send or give to the FAs.

My favorite used to be Virgin's "Hot Air". It was very edgy and innovative when it first appeared. Alas, it has become far more ordinary these days.
Look, it's been swell, but the swelling's gone down.

BA High Life.

I like the interviews they have with crew members, fleet discriptions, and their route maps.

UA- Hemisperes- Though it use to be bigger, I like the maps and the articals. Though I miss the old domestic route maps with all the line crissing crossing.

Qantas- Austalian Way. A slick and glossy looking magazine.

Singapore- Kris World, again route maps!

Ok, and I have to pay my recepct to TWA Ambassador magaize, which I have kept so many issues of.  Smokin cool
