Lufthansa To Tallinn

Fri Feb 20, 2004 5:32 am

Hello!

My friend said that Lufthansa is going to operate new line between some airport in Germany and Tallinn (Estonia). Does anybody have better information about it and if it really will, then with which planes and from where?

Thanks!

It looks like service begins 01Apr04 on Lufthansa Cityline CRJ service from FRA. LH/CL 3178 departs FRA 1215, arrives TLL 1540. Operates daily, althought the Saturday flight has slightly different times. Return flight is LH/CL 3179 departing TLL 1720, arriving FRA 1845.
Look, it's been swell, but the swelling's gone down.

Estonian is going to lease another 735 and start services to Munich, more in this topic: https://www.airliners.net/discussions/general_aviation/read.main/1408729/6/

Well, yes I believe it has pretty long range, but anyway, they usually dont make so long flights with that bird.

Yes, Foxtrot will be replaced with a newer one. No more news about expansion. But I have heard they are making new routes outside Estonia, like Oslo-Berlin etc. Though its not official information.

They also fly from DUS to HEL with the CRJ. That is pretty similar in distance.
Where have all the tri-jets gone...

Hmm, OS only recently discontinued their TLL flights (opb ERJ).

So there are two options:

- LH are too dumb to realise there´s no market.
- LH are clever by filling the void left by OS in one of Europe´s "Tiger States".

I don't know why OS discontinued TLL flights. I was flown this rout once and can't say, that flight was empty. (think about 60%)  Confused

But I am sure there is enough demand for flights between Estonia and Germany. Last year OV upgraded TLL-HAM from F50 to 735 & add flights to Berlin. And this spring OV is going to add MUC and upgrade HAM from 3 to 5 flights a week.
