You know what aircraft in UA's fleet that I think the new livery will fit the best? The A319/A320--the tail doesn't have as sharp of a decant on the leading part of it and the size of the fuselage and rounded little nose will be perfect. Probably will look good on the 757/767 too. The 777 (and when a 744 gets painted) does/will look great, however the fuselage is kind of large and belittles the scheme. Very very nice though---just a breath of fresh air.

That is an awesome looking aircraft Big thumbs up

I take back what I said earlier about the United livery as well... after the viewing the T-tail of the Canadair 600 Regional Jet, the new United livery looks stunning. I love it! What a good replacement livery!

Might suggest making it a clickable link rather than including it in the actual post.... will help on his bandwidth and not make his server overload as easily and save him money.

I do like the lighter color of this new livery but really, the tail logo is a disaster. It simply doesn't fit the tall, thin tail of these Boeing aircraft. On this 737, it's not at all easy to tell that the logo is derived from the traditional UAL tulip. It works well on the relatively square tail of the RJ, but on the Boeings it seems almost as misconceived as the NW logo that points northeast on one side of the plane. I find it very odd that the designers would not have gone for something that would look more uniform across the fleet.

Looks really nice on the 737 - a very neat livery. I still am not sure on the bigger jets though, it just looks bare.

But I can't say that I like this livery. Much prefer the old one, but I'm not the one making those decisions.

UAL744Flagship - do you have a breakdown of aircraft type that will be painted by the end of the year? I think I heard 72 planes this year, just wondering what the break down will be. Thanks!

I don't agree with critics of the dark livery, I think it's very classy and unusual. However the new one is absolutely first rate. It looks amazing on the 777 and on the 737 as well. Could a new livery turn this airline around? I don't think it has any bearing on customer decision, it's about price and that's the end of the matter. But this is a great livery, nice work United.

I was out at ORD today, and got to see the both the 737 and the 777 in new colors. The 777 was being moved from the international terminal to the maintenence hanger, while the 737 was taxiing to 22L for departure. They passed each other right in front of a packed AA terminal. What a site! I have to say that the new colors have to be seen in person to be most appreciated. They really do stand out against the ole' greys.

Sorry, I do not have access to unimatic or any other internal system that will show the paint schedules. However we are lucky to have with us many insiders like Mattnrsa and the ua-contrails who have access... and will surely give us info.

As for actual counts, I have heard 3 777s and 7 737s in the near future... many of the 72 are actually new build RJs... Don't know if this is correct.

Also: as for a 744 repaint... I have heard that one of the 744s that will be reactivated coming out of the desert will have an immediate D-check (after all, that's part of the reason why they were parked -- to avoid the costs of an HMV)... so hopefully we'll see a new paint soon. If you're that impatient, *as I obviously am*  Smile, check my website for the 744 preview.

Here is a 757 I did before the unveiling... it's not entirely accurate as I guess the cheatline wrong. Keep in mind this was done weeks before we saw the official! Also, yes, the nose gear is tilted.  Laugh out loud

I agree that it looks better on the 737 than on the 777. I agree with DeltaMD11 that the large 777 fuelselage belittles the scheme, but overall it is ok.

I didn't really like it at first, espcially on the 777 (thought it looked great on the CRJ though), anyways now that I'm seeing this it's growing on me. But the same thing happened when NW get their new c/s too and now I love it as well. Great job UA, keep up the good work!  Big thumbs up

Has anyone noticed that almost all of the "U" on the tail has been cut off. It don't even look like the United logo anymore. They should of changed the design alittle bit so it fits the tail of the 737 planes better.

I'm with a lot of you....Looks great on the 737, but for some reason it just doesn't look good on the 777. Even though I thought it sucked at first, the new livery is growing on me (I LOVED the "battleship gray").

Yea, it looks a lot better on the 737, imagine how it would look if UA ever got A380's, with that giant tail of hers. That would be a sight that I would never forget.
