I actually have two "longest flights".
The longest flight, flying time was
BA 005 a 747 from
LHR-
ANC in January 1991.
The longest time on the same plane was on a
CO 737-300, flight 1923 from
EWR to
PHX in May 1999. It was supposed to be like a 530pm departure, but due to weather we didn't board until about 730. We pushed back right away, then taxied out and stopped. The pilot came on and basically told us we were going to stay parked on the taxiway for a while, due to the weather. About 930pm, we started up the engines and turned around back to the gate, some of our flight attendants had to get off or they'd go over their duty hours. They also deicded that was a good time to refuel. Then we pushed back about 1015...taxied out... finally left at like 1130pm. It was a 5hr 45min flight to
PHX... so we landed in
PHX at about 530am
EWR time... 230am
PHX time.. all said and done, 10 on a 737... thankfully, the seat beside me was empty.
