If all goes to plan, Leeds Bradford should have a Monday night flight to Lahore, Pakistan. Service to start in May, but no news on aircracft, airline at this time. Have heard Planet Air could be involved somehow and would think maybe Monarch A300 would fit the bill.

This would be excellent if true, but as mentioned by BMIFlyer, nothing has been officially mentioned on the LBA website to date.
Other sources a couple of months ago mentioned that there was a rumour of LBA-Islamabad in the pipeline, so this could be part of the same plan, but with the destination as Lahore rather than Islamabad.
Maybe someone has finally taken notice of the increase in PIA services planned from MAN. With perhaps the majority of passengers on the flights to Pakistan having travelled from West Yorkshire, a service from LBA would be as near to a guaranteed goldmine as you are ever likely to get.

Non-stop, almost certainly no. The runway at LBA is 7400ft. Whilst an A330-sized aircraft can comfortably use LBA a stop en-route would I imagine be neccessary. Refuelling at a European airport would mean less fuel would need to be carried from LBA and therefore a higher pax/cargo load could be flown out of LBA.

Heard there was a college project done by somebody on the same lines as this. Would be good if this is for real though

Can't see Leeds being suited to wide body movements. Planes have to backtrack and turn on the runway, the terminal also seems very small, with not much room at the gate areas. But maybe im just being picky.

In the distant past LBA has had regular wide body services including the following :
British Airtours L1011 - Palma
Iberia A300 - Palma
Wardair 747 - Toronto
Even as recent as last summer Britannia were using 767s for some of their flights. I'm sure a widebody used on a night flight could be accommodated.

This will be great news if this gets off the ground. Bit surprised at Lahore instead of Islamabad? The latter would make more sense as most of the people in the district with Pakistani origin hail from Mirpur which is much closer to ISB.

You're right Fax, but I gather there have been some problems getting traffic rights to ISB.
That said, Air786, this new PlanetAir style seat broker are meant to be trying to get rights to operate into ISB so there's an outside chance of services to both Lahore and Islamabad
