Question About HP's 757's

Sat Mar 06, 2004 11:31 am

I count 13 total 757-200's for America West, 6 of which are painted in 'special' colors, the other 7 are in standard HP c/s. Is this correct?

Was there ever 757's with the reg numbers N911AW or N912AW?

Thanks

There was a N911AW, don't see anything about a 912AW however. Check out Kevin Trinkle's HP history page, has all the fleet information.

Confirming what FlyboyAZ said, no N912AW existed. For some reason, HP skipped from N911 to N913. Here's my source. Regards.

Thanks for the links, CactusWings is a kick ass site.

I did not know there have been 2 Arizona c/s, or 2 Teamwork versions.

Does anyone know why they repainted 909 from the Suns to the standard colors? When I saw it in Vegas in the summer 0f '02 it was quite faded.

Do they plan on repainting other ships as they come in for C or D checks?

The "Barney" plane as we lovingly called it, was just painted in regular colors. It looked terrible even when I was hired a few years ago.

They do paint them with the heavy duty checks, but some of them aren't due for quite some time from what I was told.

I hope that they do keep a few of their theme planes around as I love them. I'll be flying on one in late June so lets hope I get lucky and get a theme plane (preferably Nevada Battle Born)

I wonder if HP will keep the Ohio colors since they dramatically reduced service to Ohio and is no longer a hub.

The Ohio colors are still around, I flew on that aircraft a few weeks ago LAS-PHX...my first flight on an aircraft in special colors!

The Suns plane was repainted because HP is no longer the official airline of the Phoenix Suns. I believe WN now has that honor.

Also, just a quick correction, the Suns plane was N907AW. 909 has always been standard HP colors.

Is HP still the official airline of the Cardinals and the Diamondbacks?

As far as I know, the answer is yes.

Although there is no plane, HP is also the offiicial airline of the Coyotes. Now that would be a nice color scheme - if only someone could cough up the money to pay for it.

Hope this helps.

Amwest25,
What relevence does being anal have to do with America West's history and fleet information? Perhaps you are endorsing Kevin's accuracy?

Take that Phoenix Suns plane and repaint it in Coyotes colors. Now wouldn't that be cool?  Big thumbs up

I honestly don't know who we are the "official airline" of anything, it's hard to keep track though since I don't work in PHX anymore. I know in TUS we get all the U of A contracts and we have flown other sports teams as well.

Most smart people are pretty anal unfortunately. He does know his crap though! (no pun intended). I keep trying to convince him to get an id, because he knows more about aviation than most people in this forum, but alas....he won't. I guess I'll have to be his feed.  Smile

I think HP's are among the oldest around.
