Cheapest Airfare You Paid For

Wed Mar 10, 2004 3:57 am

What is the cheapest ticket you paid for to fly with an airline. This can include flights with full service or low cost carriers.

Mine would have to be, when I flew with Egyptair on their CAI-ALX-CAI route, The return ticket cost the equivalent of £9 (70 Egyptian Pounds)! That included a meal too, on the short A320 flight.

Please give the total price (i.e. including taxes and charges).

I would like to know about this Ryan Air. I hear that they give away free tickets. Is this true? How do they do that?

I have never got a cheap flight! The only time I get a good price is when I flirt with a FA and take em out and they hook me up with buddy passes. Of course they never make me pay for them!

I did an ORD-LHR site59 package Air+1 night hotel at the Sheraton Skyline heathrow for 292.44 including tax.

The fare even qualified for full mileage accrual.

UAL747DEN

RyanAir and Easyjet do these summer and winter sales, offering tickets for free or for £1 but thats excluding tax, so they end up much higher once taxes and airport charges are included, though they are still cheap.

My last FR flight was free PLUS they paid £1 of my airport tax, so in total, a day return from NCL-DUB-NCL got me the massive sum of £17.20!!! Madness!!

HA HA HA I used to be a Travel Agent and one day Iberia filed their fares wrong to Sabre (The Reservation System) and the fare from Costa Rica to Barcelona or Madrid was $999 BUT... they filed $99, how's that... Couldn't get one for me but I sold like 8 or 10 tickets that morning, until Iberia called us to stop doing that, but they said they would honored the tickets that were already issued... Great Mistake and Fares to Spain I must say!!! =)

ADZ-BOG-PEI flight with Allianza Summa, I flight the 3, SAM MD-80, Avianca MD-80, ACES A320,
this round-trip (2 weeks) ticket cost me 235.65$ CDN +35$ US for airport facility in ADZ (yeurk airport)

I probably can't tell you the cheapest airfare I ever got, but it was probably with either TWA or Southwest. The most expensive one I had by far was by flying STL-BOS-LHR on AA (a change of planes) and LHR-JFK-STL (Also a change of planes.

SAT-HOU-HRL on Southwest for total of US$ 48,00.

Also in April I booked SAT-BWI-SAT
for US$ 214,00 on Southwest

I really like Southwest, it is a great way to get in places. I don't need
anything fancy, what I need is get in places flying for a very cheap prices. Smokin cool

Cheers

The cheapest was kinda free, DUB-AGP one way for free! just pay taxes, wich came out to a total of 14.65 Euros!!! on Ryanair.

I also got a very good fare with AF, probably not the cheapest ever, but I think its very good:
3 Adults: DUB-CDG-ATL-MCO-ATL-CDG-DUB on Air France "Tempo" came to a total of: 1543 Euros!!! What u think? not bad in my opinion.

Recently February 25 I did AMS-LTN-AMS with EZY for only EURO 34,81 all taxes and fees included, a real bargain.

March 31 I would initially fly an "Easy triangle" AMS-GVA-LTN-AMS for aprox. EURO 97 with all the charges. But I changed the last flight to LGW-AMS for an extra charge of EURO 15.
So it will be AMS-GVA-LTN, LGW-AMS with EZY for aprox EURO 112.

Well not the cheapest but my last one was
CHS-DEN return for $168 on continental

Did do IAD-CDG on UA back in the 90's for $238

I think cheapest would have to be WN BWI-PVD $62 RT

Early Dec 01, JAL for $A1518 including all taxes AND a night at a 4 star hotel at KIX, for SYD - anywhere in western Europe (that JAL serve, either themselves or via code share) & return. Thats between 6 & 7 cents($A) per mile, (about 3.5 to 4.5 US cents per mile, at the time) depending on how much you allow for hotel room.

Now thats a cheap airfare!

240$ for a fun run on Southwest: DAL-AMA-ABQ-PHX and back(PHX-ABQ-AMA-DAL) they have great deals often! Anyone ever try naming your own price on Priceline, there's a way to get some good fares too...

I booked a weekend trip to visit the Smithsonian Air Museum over the Holidays. My route was MSP-CVG-BWI-CVG-MSP on Delta/NWA for $139. I volunteered to get bump on the CVG-BWI segment and I received a $200 dollar voucher. They delayed my luggage on the return trip and I got another $25 voucher. So I made $86 on the trip.  Big thumbs up

In 1980 DAL started a super DC-8 service from ATL to LAS with a short stop in PHX. The Delta people had never offered PHX to LAS service and launched a massive promo, $7.11 R/T !! (First 30 days only of new service) and if you could come up to the counter and roll a 7 or an 11 with the big fuzzy dice, you got a free trip! (you had to be in the boarding area with ticket and someone would hand you $7.11 in cash! ) every flight sold out in hours, and it was even on the local TV news! Delta got the word out! Also, the 50 Min ride in that big old jet was priceless!

$425 UA SFO-CDG-AMS-IAD-SFO. Error in their posting for about 45 Minutes and it should have been one more zero added there. So I paid for it and they said it was all good to go. And then they called me up later to say that had cheated the airline? Oh well, still got the fare for 425 business on all 777's and one 767 (logo jet too). Great flights and great crew!

$A25 for Sydney - Coffs Harbour - Sydney - Canberra - Sydney on Eastern Australia Airlines back in 1993. I was jumpseating though!!

Other than that, the $A31 Sydney to Melbourne Avalon ticket I bought on Jetstar for when I fly next on June 5. Loved that introductory offer!!  Smile

Cheers,

In the summer of '84 or '85, my mom and I flew out to Los Angeles from Phoenix four times, because Southwest and America West were in a huge airfare battle, and they each had $19 one-way fares. An 800 mile trip for $38, she couldn't afford not to take a few mini vacations. Each time we'd fly out to LA in the morning, rent a car, see a few sights, take the car back, and fly home in the evening.

Since then the lowest I've purchased were roundtrip tickets for my son and I from Cincinnati to Boston a few years ago. USAirways was having this absurdly low internet fare sale between select city pairs, and the roundtrip fare between CVG and BOS was $59. I accidentally stumbled upon it while I was screwing around on Travelocity and figured a fare that low was too good to pass up, so my son and I went to Boston to finally see a game at Fenway Park.

So since then, I mess around on Travelocity a couple times a week hoping lightning strikes twice, and each year so far I've stumbled upon some great fares to fly out and see baseball games. None have been as good as the CVG to BOS fare, but they're always pretty close. There always seems to be an airline that for some reason will take their regular bargain-basement fare between two cities and decide to slash it in half for a day or two. It's bizarre, but I don't mind, and neither does my son. It's not every kid that's been to 11 major league parks before he turns ten.

I almost only fly from LAX-BOS roundtrip, so my options are limited (usually with one stop). Cheapest I ever got was $189 roundtrip on Priceline - unfortunately can't remember what airline it was. Most likely WN, F9, or HP. But I vowed never to use Priceline again, as I requested a departure on a Saturday night, and they gave me a flight at 1:55 AM Sunday morning (according to them, that's still Saturday night). Not the biggest deal in the world, but I can find cheap tickets otherwise, and fly when I want to.
Most recent purchase (and one of my lowest prices) was roundtrip LAX-BWI (with stops in ORD both ways) for $222 total....and this was on United of all carriers (and through United's website)! Surprised the hell outta me, as I'd always gone WN, F9, HP...and only once AA to fly round trip cross country.

Paid £45.00 for two roundtrip tickets from STN to CIA, so about £22.50 each. Very good indeed.

Recently paid £9.10 (excluding tax and fees; £12.10 with) for a one-way ticket from BGY to STN. Again, superb value.

My cheapest airfare was Free. No taxes and no fare flying on GO Fly from EMA to ALC and back.

The cheapest i have had to pay was £15.98 from BHX - GLA rtn on flybe. inc all taxes. Now thats cheap to think that the taxes are actually more than that on most airlines
