Euro 2004 At LIS.

Thu Apr 22, 2004 9:11 pm

Hi!

We had a topic before regarding equipment used by BA during the EURO 2004 in Portugal. I just checked out some other ailrines and only SWISS is upgrading their flights and their equipment to LIS so far, maybe any of you from those countries that will have their national teams playing here will know more about some unsual airplanes that will come by. About SWISS, they normally have a daily flight with a Airbus 320 from ZRH and a RJ85 from GVA. Well during the EURO they will have two flights from ZRH, one with A321 and one with a A320, and from GVA they will fly with a A319.
I wait for your feedback.

For EURO 2004 LH will upgrade their daily A320 and A321 services from FRA to A300. They already have one daily A300 so they will have 3xA300 daily FRALIS.

From MUC they will upgrade some of their A319/320/321 services A300 and have some changes within the A320 family as well!

Good!

As for SAS - I think the frequencies are going to be stepped up. They can hardly spare any of the bigger longhaul aircrafts from the summer schedules.

Horus, I knew that the egypcians are great soccer fans and I was expecting them to support Portugal......

TAP1972, that comment about supporting Denmark was just a joke with Qlguy24. I'm sure that Egyptian fans support different countries not just one (even Portugal  Big thumbs up).

A buddy an I will fly to LIS on June 20th to watch the "Iberian match" (Spain vs. Portugal). We already have a hotel room and the tickets to enter the stadium but we idiots decided to fly non-rev to LIS, now we hope that there are at least two free seats left, if not we have to convince our crew control department to ask the flight crew for the cockpit jumpseats.

I'm non-revving to either AMS or MUC from ATL but then am purchasing a ticket to LIS. DL doesn't fly to lisbon and my 3 friends can't non-rev on OAL so I might as well be safe then sorry.

It looks like BA is upgrasing their equipment. They have a daily 747-400 at 11-JUN to 25-JUN and a bunch of 767's flying as well.

Since Poland got knocked out, I'm just there to party and perhaps root on any underdogs. We shall see!

Hi KI911

What about trying flying from Brussels? Unfortunately Belgium didn't qualify to Euro 2004, so probably you might get a ticket. TAP has 4 daily flights and Virgin Express flyes also to Lisbon 4 or 5 times a week (not sure).

TAP1972, Egyptair used to operate twice weekly flights to Lisbon, but the service was terminated after 9/11. One flight routed CAI-MAD-LIS-CAI and the other went the reverse way, CAI-LIS-MAD-CAI with A300-600Rs during the summer and A320s during the winter.
