My longest nonstop was LAX-Milan on Alitalia. I believe it was something like 13 or 14 hours.

I take a rather large group of high school students to Europe each year. We just received the itinerary for our flights. I don't know if this will beat the previous time I mentioned above:

Out: DL HNL-SLC-ATL-LGW

Return: DL AMS-ATL-LAX-HNL

I haven't actually sat down to work out the flight times yet. We shall see...

SIN-LHR in March this year, a killer of a flight despite travelling with SQ. I am determined to travel in Raffles Class next time. I think that the SIN/LHR route is the longest possible from LHR. To top it off they only had noodles left for the breakfast option...

I routinely fly from ORD-EWR-HKG-BKK or through IAH or NRT, depending on the available seats. Longest one way was probably DPS (Bali)-SIN-AB) (FRA / FRF / EDDF), Germany">FRA-LAX. No matter how I get to BKK (and I do it about 5 times a year) it's still half way around the world for me.

SYD-NRT-CDG-HEL, 24h45mins according to Amadeus, plus waiting times in airports. I lost count during the flights so I don´t remember how long it actually took. Carriers were Qantas, JAL and Finnair. Everything went well after QF finally managed to start the engines on Nalanji Dreaming, we had some problems with no. 1 or 2. Didn´t feel fresh at all upon arrival after all that time in economy. We went down under using routing HEL-MUC-DXB-SYD, which is about two hours shorter but was actually several longer due to morning fog in Dubai, which caused us to divert to Qatar for refueling. But Emirates A345 was simply fantastic!

My longest flight overall was last November with MH from LHR to KUL with a 2 hour stop in LGK. The total duration including the stopover was almost 15 hours. My return flight was nonstop from KUL to LHR and was thus my longest single sector at 12 and a half hours. During that return flight there was not one occasion on which the Captain turned on the Fasten Seat Belts sign until descent - quite a remarkable flight and a credit to the 747-400's sturdiness. MH was great overall.

EGE-DEN(plane broken, had to take a bus!)DEN-SFO-SYD-MEL-HOB. When all was said and done it took nearly 37 hours. Almost missed my connecting flight from Denver to San Francisco due to our 2.5 hour bus ride. That was a good way to start a really long journey.

The longest trip I've ever taken was
SFO - NRT. It was 10 hours or so in a JAL 747. I will never forget the fact that I was one of two caucasians. Everyone else was japanese. No, this is not a problem for me. However, I was in a metal tube for 10 hours with people from a totally different culture who spoke a very different language. I was in my early twenties.
The trip didn't end there. I then deplaned, went through immigration, spent the night at a hotel, provided by the airline, woke up, went to the airport to catch the continuation of my itinerary. The next flight was NRT - SIN on JAL. I think it was a DC-10. It was about six hours, I believe. All together the trip was way over 24 hours, and a day or so lost due to time changes.
The funniest thing was that my original intention was to meet my parents in Osaka. They were flying in from SYD. However, going round trip SFO to Osaka (is it KIX???) was almost twice as expensive as going SFO - NRT - SIN - Osaka (1 week layover) - HNL (another week layover) - SFO. So I flew to Singapore and enjoyed one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
I have had several other multi - day trips due to broken down equipment, but that's another thread.

My longest travel experience was Thailand to UK. I flew a lond-winded route because part was pleasure, the rest was pre-booked by work.
Chang Mai - Bangkok on Thai
Bangkok - Singapore on Thai
Singapore - Dubai on Emirates
Dubai - Manchester on Emirates.

Total time was 32 hours, Emirates upgraded me from Singapore to Dubai so didn't seem so long!

ATL-JNB on South African in 2000. At the time, it was the longest scheduled non-stop flight in the world (later surpassed by EWR-HKG I believe). That was just one leg of my overall journey: DCA-ATL-JNB-HRE.

The longest trip was:

MEL-SYD-KUL-LHR/LGW-MIA-MCO on QF/BA/AA. It was ridiculously long and about 40 odd hours between leaving Australia and arriving in Florida. The change of airports from Heathrow to Gatwick made the trip that much more arduous!!! The things you do when travelling standby!!!

The longest sector was:

LAX-SYD..... 15 hours! Not fun down the back!

Beef Island-SJU(36min)/SJU-ORD(4.5hrs)/ORD-SFO(4hrs)/SFO-HKG(13hrs) would have to be my longest flight. Not to mention the layover at SJU(3hrs) and SFO(2hrs). For me it was funny b/c I had never flown AA and hated it and was happy as hell to get back onto a UA aircraft w/ the usually funny and polite f/a and crew (SFO-HKG). Total time was about 27hrs w/ layovers and is my current record at the age of 15 and was alone.

Your Longest International Flight Ever

Mon May 10, 2004 10:43 am

Definetly

Varig on BVB (Boa Vista in Norther Brazil) - GRU via Manaus. Then connecting to
Varig from GRU-EZE, connecting to
Aerolineas Argentinas EZE-AKL-SYD , connecting to
Qantas SYD-ADL.

so, it was

BVB-MAO-GRU-EZE-AKL-SYD-ADL.

It was a family emergency which i guess would explain the rush of things, otherwise i would have overnighted in BA or SP. that took about 45 hours after all waiting for connections and what not. This took place on April 20, 1995, i remember i was on vacation when i got word i needed to go back to oz.

MEL-LAX-IAD-MXP.

Saw the sun set over the Pacific, rise in Los Angeles, set again in Washington DC, and rise again over the Alps. Departed Melbourne at about 11:30 on 20 February, arrived Milan at about 07:30 on 22 February.

I love flying....but.........

Thought mine was going to be long, but after reading the above, I guess not.

With Britannia
MAN - LGW - MCO - PVR. Must have been about 16 hours in total. Although strictly speaking, it was LHR - MAN - LGW - MCO - PVR. Travel concession ticket meant I had to get on at MAN, even though the plane would stop at LGW. So I flew from LHR to MAN to fly back to LGW. Crazy. Probably makes journey time about 2 hours longer. Cannot remember exactly.

Also Monarch Airlines LGW - MAN - BGR - MCO took ages.

My longest non stop was LHR - BKK with TG. Couldn't wait to get off - was almost climbing up the walls ( I was in econ!) If I remeber, was about 11 1/2 hours.
