Can someone tell the REAL difference between the LR and the ER. Im getting tiered of seeing a 777-200LR and a ER and being told that they are not the same.
The long winded response-
There are two sizes of 777. The 777-200 has a capacity of 305 passengers in three class configuration. A 777-300 has a capacity of 370 passengers in three class configuration. The difference comes in range and associated MTOW.
(abbreviation)(full name)(length)(wingspan)(range nm)(MTOW)(passenger capacity)
772A ( 777-200 )(209 ft)(199 ft)(5,210 nm)(545,000 lb)(305 three-class)
772ER (777-200ER)(209 ft)(199 ft)(7,730 nm)(656,000 lb)(301 three-class)
772LR (777-200LR)(209 ft)(212 ft)(9,280 nm)(766,600 lb)(301 three-class)
773A (777-300)(242 ft)(199 ft)(5,955 nm)(666,000 lb)(368 three-class)
773ER (777-300ER)(242 ft)(212 ft)(7,705 nm)(775,000 lb)(368 three-class)
You can see that the alll 777 share the same wing, and that the only main difference between the -200 and -300 is a 30' fuselage plug.
The 772LR and 773ER are members of the 777 Long Range Program, which is intended to stretch the range of the existing 773 and 772ER. These two models have wingtip extensions to improve their aerodyamics on long-range flights.
I have a three post per topic limit. You're welcome to have the last word.
