Hey guys

I was browsing through the most popular pictures of the past 24 hours, and came across this pic:

I think, between that, old UAX colors and new UAX colors, I like that hybrid the best!! Anyone agree?

I saw that picture earlier today. I thought it was on a flight test, judging from that brown color and the small UAL titles.

There was a second example, I believe his tail number was N453AW, here at MSY a couple of weeks ago.

The green winglets were a bit of a novelty.

I like it because it is unique, and especially because it is temporary.

Will she be flying into Miami anytime soon? The combination of the United Express titles and logo along with the green wingtips on the tan fuselage looks great in my opinion!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I saw that plane, or a hybrid at least last night in GRB! Didn't know what it was, though the one in GRB looked all white it could have just been the lighting. Interesting none the less-Matt in KITH

Actually, if you applied the current of previous UA/UAX tail onto the cream color, it would look quite refined, and elegant. I think it far outweighs the hideous new scheme on the RJs. I do, however, like the new scheme on the 777. Also, it will look beautiful on the Airbuses.

What? AirTran and UAL? This is the first time I am hearing about this.  Big grin

I flew on that A/C from IAD to IND but it didn't have the tulip on it. During boarding we were told to board the white aircraft. It took me a second to realize it was the brown aircraft they were referring to I was looking for an aircraft like AX's Casper.

I think it looks very nice. As much as I like the new UA livery, it just doesn't fit the CRJ. This one looks like a very exclusive and high class airline, while still just being a CRJ. N445AW is also in these colors. I've seen it twice at MSP now.

Theres actually 17 examples of this.... I posted this about 3 weeks ago when 449AW came into MSN. I don't even remember what my post was called though!!! Once these planes go through C-Checks they will be painted into the new UA scheme with the white/blue fade. These are just old AirTran JetConnect planes... Probably some other planes that have went through a transformation like this one.

Are the seats on these a.c any different than the standard Air Wisconsin United Express seats?

At IAD today for the meet we saw 3 of them land on 19R in a very short amount of time. They are quite easy to pick out, lighting was nice today though.

All ten of the ZW planes that were flying for AirTran will be in the tan livery for a while to come. We affectionately named it the Uni-Tran paint job. Good to see old 434 in that picture. I was involved in an incident with that P.O.S. on the ramp a little over a year ago.

I believe those are Mesa jets that are going to be painted in UA's new livery. They have taken over ACA's United routes since ACA ended their contract with UA to start up IAir... I see them in CLE all the time. Sometimes looking like these examples other times all white, sometimes with the Mesa tail logo and occasionally in the full UA new livery.

AirWhiskey once again had one of the hybrids parked here overnight in DAY last night. The UA folks move it from the gate an park it on the ramp on the backside of the C concourse.

I believe those are Mesa jets that are going to be painted in UA's new livery.

They are ZW (Air Wisconsin aka Air Cheese) aircraft that were formerly flown as AirTran JetConnect. There is no connection to Mesa in anyway with these A/C.

Saw that plane today parked at IAD and thought immediately that it was Mesa! Makes perfect sense now as I couldn't see any remnants of Mesa markings...

Does anybody know when these aircraft will get their full UA colors?
Not too quickly I hope!
This is because my bi-annual pilgrimage back to Chicago is winter holiday after Christmas and I hope to catch them then.
Also how many are operating in this scheme?

There are ten jets in the Uni-Tran color scheme. They will be in that scheme for some time to come, so you sould be able to see one when you go to ORD.

I fly for AWAC and can tell you that the 10 CRJ-200LR/ER's will be in those colors until January 2005. Some will be repainted during the fall shoulder travel season and the rest to be repainted by JAN 2005. They were not repainted because United wanted them in service for the busy summer travel season.

-Smcmac32msn There are 10 ex-FL CRJ-200s in the hybrid colors:

N431AW ex-N575ML
N432AW ex-N576ML
N433AW ex-N580ML
N434AW ex-N582ML
N438AW
N439AW
N445AW
N449AW
N453AW
N457AW

- Nwa747-400 The interiers are no different than that of the UAX planes except the ex-Midway should still have leather seats. The 2 ex-Midway a/c N421ZW and N422AW already in service as UAX since delivery to ZW have leather seats.
Cross check complete.

Yuck! I'll look forward to seeing those painted in the new United Express livery.

BTW why does the temporary paint scheme use United's old 1990s-era marquee? That had already been replaced on the Shuttle as early as 1999 or 2000 if memory serves (though it wasn't removed from the mainline or standard Express liveries until the announcement of the new livery this Spring).

I presume the CRJs will be painted into the new UAX livery?
