This afternoon, Delta Airlines will conduct a short, low altitude flight over the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area as part of the airline’s 75th anniversary celebration.
The flight will leave from
JFK Airport at 12:30 p.m and fly at an altitude of 4,000 feet. The flight path will bring the plane over the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island and then up along the Hudson River to the George Washington Bridge. It will then fly over LaGuardia Airport on its way back to
JFK.
While the aircraft will fly a route much lower than a typical airline flight, it will follow a safe, pre-approved flight plan and no one should not be alarmed
