Good news from Taca, they're adding one A-319 and three A-320s. I think they're PR department released it early, because the release I received said September 9, oh well... good news either way.

How can they get deliveries so quick? They say they will purchase, so have they obtained leasing company slots, as I am sure Airbus do not have any other production slots available.

Would love to fly an Airbus on a domestic flight here in Venezuela. All we get here are DC9s and B732s. The newest plane you can get on is an EMB-120 or an ATR-42/72.

Are they trying to do in Venezuela what they unsuccesfully tried in Peru with TACA PERU?
It was very strange that Taca's adventure in Peru stopped pretty much when Fujimori left, and that it's Venezuelan start-up sees the day as Chavez gets "re-elected" for another "few years"...

Nonetheless Taca is a company that I support since it succesfully broke the American supremacy in C.A.
My opinion is that they really need a couple of A330s for their LAX and JFK routes. The A320s are very limited on such long flights out of Comalapa, meaning a lot of pax-restrictions on those demanded destinations.

Actually, Taca Peru is active and has a quite nice operation in LIM, why do you say their adventura was over when Fujimori left?

Grupo Taca serves Santiago de Chile and Buenos Aires in the Southern Cone. Also Sao Paulo BTW.
It's hard to say what "kind of Taca" does it, as they swap planes and crew wherever needed.
Also hard to judge when regarding the route licenses, some of the routes may be operated on the license of the former Lacsa that flew for instance Santiago-Lima before the creation of Grupo Taca. Or perhaps Taca Peru filed for the rights of all the routes out of Lima, could be. ?
I think the best bet is referring to Grupo Taca as a whole.

I think that kind of flexibility is what has helped TACA maintain its current size and even grow. i Have been on a TACA coded flight, with on a LACSA aircraft and a Peruvian Pilot.

ZXV: SCL is served directly from Costa Rica, with a stop in LIM. There is no a/c change or conexion to make, just a stop in LIM. As posted above, this is heritage from Lacsa service to SCL, that begun at the same time UC started to fly to San Jose... those golden years...
