New DL Flights

Thu Sep 09, 2004 6:54 am

LIT-SLC (Two new daily DL Connection flights) CR7?
LIT-MCO (One new daily DL Connection flight) CR7?

LIT has gained one new airline and five new destinations so far this year.

When are these new flights scheduled to begin? Will this happen all at once or will it gradually be implemented between now and February?

There are many more new flights across the country. Post them here.

I believe everything will take place at once (I think it's going to be a pretty much overnight shutdown of the DFW hub). There are plenty of other threads on the subject about new routes; most are out of SLC, with BOS, JFK, MCO, TPA, and FLL picking up a few too.

Nice to see the BDL-CMH flights back, which went away when HP closed its CMH hub. IIRC, HP's BDL-CMH had some good loads & yield.

SLC is getting 13 new destinations. Assuming Little Rock is one and Burbank is 2, what are the other 11?

It will not be an overnight shutdown. 41 flights will end Nov. 1, Dec. 1, Jan.1 and the rest at the end of the month.

ASA will start at CR7 crew base in SLC. All other ASA pilots will be ATL based.

I don't know if I can remember them all of the top of my head, but ones that stand out were: FLL, TPA, XNA, LIT, BUR, OGG, SJD, CUN, HDN, MSY, and some Texas cities.
It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.

SLC-BTR...Baton Rouge, LA...most likely Big grin

ASA needs to route SLC based 19 CRJ700s (soon to be) to a maintenance base somehow.

With the 757's now widely used to Hawaii, Song to Hawaii could work. Better pitch, leather, PTV's. The only way to fly!

I just heard from another a.net member that SLC will have service to ELP, not big news for some people but huge news for me! That made my day, I can fly easier to the west coast now.

Don't have many "in's" with DL, does anyone know if PVD sees any major changes, and curious to know where these route changes are listed...

Sspomtak: "With the 757's now widely used to Hawaii, Song to Hawaii could work. Better pitch, leather, PTV's. The only way to fly!"

Is that true? As far as I know, none of DL's 75s are 180 min ETOPS certified. I can't believe they would foot the expense to convert them.

I cannot express how happy I am to see that Tallahassee will be served from New York City. Finally we are getting flights that take us directly OUT of the South. Hopefully they will have competitive fares.

Nice to see JFK finally regaining CLT service. Makes you wonder if DL is attacking US with CLT, and additional PIT service to JFK. It will be interesting to see how the new FLA routes perform.

I wonder what the change in DL mainline flights will be in CVG. Specifically, in the "NETWORK SPECIFICS" section for CVG. It has the current mainline departures at 155 and the new one at 156.

It mentions that there will be zero Delta connection flights to/from DFW, so my guess is that the three ASA/Comair flights CVG-DFW will be transformed into one mainline flight supplementing the four existing mainline flights. only a guess...

Anyone have any info on the added flight??? B4REAL

great to see SLC flights, but to see it at the DFW expense is saddening to me. DFW has a great history with me...my first cross country flight...and those flights mean a lot to me. I am suprised that they didn't keep the FLL flights as FLL is a focus city....I would have thought they would have kept BOS, FLL, MCO, TPA, LAX, SFO, LAS, JFK, LGA. Oh well, I'm not in charge of Delta, so I have no say!

Still, glad to see the SLC flights here at FLL!

Flairport, I agree, it is disheartening to see DFW go to 21 daily DL flights. I remember some of the Interline Parties DL used to participate in at DFW & always had a great time at them. I too have a history at DFW-I was on DL 1141 on Aug 31, 1988 and spent 16 days in the hospital in Dallas after that.
My father (a pilot for DL was based at DFW for a while) DFW is now down to just 1 hubbing airline there. At one time there was AA, DL & BN.
