Spirit A321 In DTW

Fri Sep 24, 2004 1:29 am

For those who would like to see Spirits 321 it is parked at there hangar in DTW. You can see it from Middlebelt road the best and from I-94 if you look hard, but Middlebelt is probably the best place to see it, unless you drive down by the rental car places to get a closer look.

It's been there about two weeks. They are leasing 3 ex Aero Lloyd aircraft. Has the US reg been put on yet?

Yeah I have seen it, it a darker metallic color like NWA and the blue square deisgn thing are the same but they are gray. Interesting looking but not very sharp. I saw it taxing and driving by.
My FA buddy from Spirit is less than thrilled about it.

I think it is BY FAR the best look of any of the other American "LCC" paint schemes.

Hi. I think I saw a Spirit A321 over Manhattan (heading north, towards LGA) this morning around 10:25 am.

Was very cool looking.

Best,

I don't know, I still kinda like the white/blue/red scheme of Spirit.

The grey metallic is cool looking just seems rather dark.

It was in TOL for the day last week. They were doing touch and goes for about 8 hours. Saw it in DTW as well last Thursday. Very good looking bird.

When is NK going to start using the A321 for scheduled service?

Planemannyc, you were correct, the NK A321 landed at LGA about the time you saw it, routing DTW-LGA-FLL (Proving Flight) I found out to late or would have gone in early for photos !

COEWRNJ, scheduled service starts Nov 18
DTW-FLL, DTW-RSW,
FLL-ACY, FLL-DTW, FLL-LGA,
ACY-FLL. ACY-RSW,
LGA-FLL, LGA-MCO,
RSW-ACY, RSW-DTW,
MCO-LGA.

I believe its a 4 aircraft rotation.

Right now its on its way back to FLL from SJU. (Flt # 8327) Must be another proving flight.
Now it should be "IFLYDCA"
