Hello to all, I am a new member to A.net.
Can anyone tell me the specs and requirements for an airline to convert 757 from non etops to etops? Also on a side question can an A321 be etops and if so are there any airlines flying them?

Yes you can get 757's certified to ETOPS v Non-ETOPS. There is no specific a/c that cannot be certified to ETOPS standards.

I know you need an HF radio if not already present. An HMG (hydraulic motor generator) as an alternate source of electrical power. I'm not sure what other physical requirments there are. You also must demonstrate that you can maintain the aircraft to ETOPS standards.

You should ask your question in tech/ops. The answer is very complicated. There's not necessarily a "conversion" involved.

Do you mean a UHF radio? All aircraft have VHF radios installed (or else they couldn't talk to ATC at all).

ETOPS is a very maintenance centered program. An ETOPS flight is in many ways an ordinary flight with some additional flight planning rules. But the maintenance program is the key.
An airplane must be maintained under an ETOPS program to ensure certain minimum levels of system reliability and proper airplane configuration. Depending on the airplane some parts may have to be swapped out to meet these reliability standards and to conform to an approved configuration. If an A321 meets the standards, then there is no reason that it could not be used in ETOPS. Some 737NG and MD80 are approved for ETOPS today.
If you really want to know the specifics, you should go to the FAA website and pull up the Advisory Circular on ETOPS.
