Delta 767-300 At GSO?

While flying into GSO tonight, I couldn't help but notice that there was a Delta 767-300 parked at their gates, at the end of the concourse (near the AA gate). My questions are: (1) where did it come from (2) why was it there (my guess is maybe the homeshow) and (3) what was the reg?

Delta has maintenance in GSO. They bring 777 and 767-2/3/4.

Wouldn't it be parked at TIMCO then instead of the gate? Or did they just switch a revenue flight to the 76 to bring it in?

Perhaps they decided to send it out on a revenue flight after maintenance was completed?

The North Carolina Tar Heels chartered a 767-300 from GSO to SLC to GSO for their game with Utah. I'm not sure of the flight number or reg.

It's for neither TIMCO or the Tarheels.

The Furniture Market is in High Point right now. United is flying in with 757s these two weeks, Delta is flying 757s and 767s. Yes, loads are just that high right now. Most airlines either increase frequencies or increase capacities for these two weeks.

And it is typical that we also see a ton of other strange jets from the Middle East and Africa to haul furniture back to the home countries during this time too.

I believe this is probably the plane you saw. MX diversion en route from ATL to LGA. Pilots thought they smelled smoke in the cockpit.

GSO does maintenance for many airlines there. Many a UA 777 and the DL 777s (when they went 3x3x3 in Y) have been seen there by my eyeballs, as well as some of these highlights:

Everytime that I have gone by GSO over the past few months, there have always been at least a couple of UA 757s over by TIMCO (back on 9/11 there were actually 5 UA 757s...). I could have sworn I saw a UA 767-300 in the new colours over there on Wednesday...
