I'm flying DL flight 443 from SDF-ATL which arrives in ATL at 4:35, then scheduled flt. 438 ATL-BOS which departs at 5:18. Is 40 minutes enough at ATL? I do not have any terminal info sent with my e-ticket. That seems to be cutting it awful closely. My return trip from BOS-ATL-SDF gives me right at 40 minutes to connect also.
I am excited to fly on my first 763 on this route though!

40 minutes is plenty. It takes about about 20 mins to get from T1 to E34 which is the furthest you could possibly go.

40 minutes is plenty of time most of delta gates are in the first 3 or 4 terminals i don't remember the exact number they operate from but you will be fine and plus you flight might arrive early.

Flight DL438 dosn't go anywhere near BOS. With those flight numbers it has you going Louisville,KY-Atlanta-Jacksonville,FL with a 2.5 layover in ATL.

min connex time in ATL in DLterm is 55min if your are checking luggage. If you are not checking luggage 40min is pushing it but adequate as long as you are on time.

40 mins is plenty...considering you'll be flying on Delta...your terminals will be either in close proximity to each other...just check out the screens when you get to the airport and then hop on the train and you'll be good to go. ATL-a very friendly airport..hehe

Most poeple say it only takes like 30 minutes to get from the first terminal to the last terminal (ATL's international terminal).
HOWEVER- I partially disagree with this.
One time when I was in ATL the tram thing that transferred you between terminals what shut/broke down.
It look about 35-40 minutes to walk from the first terminal, for me to walk to see the awsome Korean Air 744.
I suggest you leave some leanway for accidents and cases like this- but normally 40 minutes is fine for domestic travel.

40 minutes is more than enough. The SDF flight should arrive at Concourse B (most likely) or A; most BOS flights leave from Concourse A. Thus, it's a pretty straight forward connection - even if the tram is broken (never been when I've been there), it's a five minute walk between the two concourses, plus 5 minutes from each end of the concourse to the middle...you should be at your connecting gate within 15 minutes of stepping off your SDF flight.
