Where Did John Kerry Get His 757?

Wed Nov 03, 2004 10:58 am

Where did John Kerry get his 757-200? Someone told me he got it from T9? Just wondering. And what would happen to this graceful bird if Senator Kerry did win the election? Oh and....... BUSH/CHENNEY'04!!

TransMeridian Airlines - a charter service. After the election it'll go back to shuttling businessmen, sports teams, etc....

AGC525, T9 is not entirely a charter service. It's more a scheduled airline.

If Continental had a hub at DFW with nonstop flights I would always fly them, unfortunantely good things take time.

What would happen? It would go back to Transmeridian. When he wins it will go back to Transmeridian. If he lost, it would go back to Transmeridian. KERRY/EDWARDS '04!!!!!  Big grin

- What kind of schedule does this airline have?

They fly MIA-CCS as Santa Barbara Airlines. The airplane will be re-configured to passenger transport. As it is now, there are two fully reclining sleepers in the forward section. Then there is club seating section with two tables. Aft of that there is a bar, and then the cattle car seating for the press corps. Our company fabricated the bar, tables and partitions for this project.

The Champion Air 727 that I saw at NEW shuttling Edwards around was N686CA.

John Edward's campaign aircraft was actually N679MG. It dropped off Edwards in BED (Boston area) on Tuesday night and was then ferried to OKC.

Interesting about the --MG reg, MGM Grand Air had that two-letter sign, and I thought they just had DC8s, I could be incorrect!

Cs03,

N679MG was originally with EAL as N820EA, then went with NWA as the same reg, and was picked up by Champion in February of 2004.

Champion Air actually started as MGM Grand Air. Looks like MGM used to have both B727s and DC-8s. MGM Grand changed to the Champion Air name in the 1990s. Champion Air's IATA airline code remains MG, however.

Regarding the comments about the MG registration on the 727 and
MGM Grand Air...two thoughts:

MGM Grand definitely had at least one 727.

Champion is, I believe, the successor to MGM Grand Air.

All the best,

Bill

Indeed, MGM Grand Air had at least N801MG N802MG and N803MG (DC8s) and at least N503MG and N504MG (727s).

All the best,

Bill

TMA's domestic scheduled service as of today...

They'll be increasing their network when they start flying for Vacation Express.

Technically TMA is 100% charter, not scheduled; their "scheduled" flights are actually public charters. To quote their disclaimer, "TransMeridian Airlines Flights are Public Charters operated by TransMeridian Airlines."

MGM Grand Air had three 727s. All three are now owned by Jack Roush, two are used for the race teams and one is parts.
