I do NOT think that it is not that funny but i think it would have been cool to have been there! I am not mad about little planes like that.

Did the plane stall at one point?

HAHA...believe it or not. On saturday I was flying jumpseat to ACE and the captain on this flight showed me that video on his laptop, what a coincidence  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

That was Jurgis Kairys in his SU-26. He is widely noted to be the best aerobatic pilot of all time, for sure the best airshow pilot. He has a 450 HP SU 31 that he amazes in. You think that was low, look at this:

You think the plane is going to stall but no...I saw a Extra 300 myself and that little plane has more HP than you can imagine. It can literally "hang" itself vertically with the right power settings

But of course..kudos to the pilot skill Big grin

Extra 300 - 300HP Lycoming AEIO 540 - Flown them, they wont quite really hover. Combo of: Plane too heavy, prop too small, not enough HP.

The Sukhoi, (350-450HP) with its geared radial engine and huge 260cm MT prop hovers, especially with the 450 HP Vendenyev M-14R engine. The geared engine allows the prop to turn slower, therefore you can have a larger diameter prop without the tips going supersonic.

The American Built Zivko Edge 540 (Lycoming bored out to 340hp or so) is VERY light and can hover too.

During WWII there was a Canadian pilot George 'Screwball' Buerling who flew a Spitfire upside down underneath Tower Bridge in London
