Wed Jan 19, 2005 7:08 am

It has been reported that the Dash 8 fleet was due to be retired at the end of March 2005, but on looking at the BA schedules for summer 2005 they are carrying on with little or no change, whats going on. and when are they going to be repalced?

I thought it was the ATP's being replaced by Dash 8's..

For: ABZ-GLA-ABZ
ABZ-LSI-ABZ

I know it's Loganair that do these route, but not to sure if they're part of
Citiexpress.

I love the dash8-300s in BA colours. What are they planning to replace them with. Would love to see some Q400s in BA colour scheme.

Citiexpress is going for an all jet fleet, so they won't be replaced by Q400s that's for sure. Not sure when they're leaving, but they won't be going to Loganair when they do.

More than likely the ERJ145. Although rumours suggest EMB-170s may be joining from AZ

It's likely to be junglejets. They seem to be very popular at present.

It takes a big man to admit they are wrong, and I am not a big man.

Tangoecho - there are no more ATP's flying out of MAN for TH . I think some went to Loganair (which is a franchise carrier like Bmed & GB Airways - NOT part of BA CitiExpress)....

As the Maintenance Planning Engineer dealing with both ATP and Dash 8's for BACX, I can tell you that we no longer operate ATP's commercially. The last 3 of ours that are currently flying (G-MANJ,NL & MAUD) are being used by Loganair. They start the handback sequence with MAUD in May, and will be returned to lessor by the end of July.
Dash 8's are as yet still extant. We are returning G-BRYI & YJ, starting with YJ on March 31st and YI on May 31st. Currently there are no plans to return the rest of the Dash 8's but don't hold your breath! Look at what happened with our J-41's.
A new Business Plan is due out soon and this may detail further changes, but until that happens, the plan stands as above.

Cheers

Andy
